How long after verbal offer do I get the contract?

How is the transition from auditing work in PA to actually performing the work in industry as a staff accountant? I want to leave PA after busy season and I’ll only have 6 months of experience by then... But I’m curious to hear from anyone who stayed in audit for a year or two.
