Trust me, you need a change. I guess your age is below 30.
I'm 27. I went on a short term onsite trip for 3 months. And i had so much fun. I learnt so many things too.
From time to time, you need to change your environment. Otherwise you'll become lazy.
Also,
After you become old, you won't have same energy levels to enjoy life.
I was also worried about taking care of my parents, I've stayed with them for so many years and took care of them, i can take a break for few months . sometimes you need to take risks as well.
You can't have everything at once.
You have to sacrifice one thing or the other at a point of time.
So it's better to ask yourself what matters you the most and then take decision accordingly.

I will be in similar situation soon, except I'll be leaving the country. I think it's going to be difficult but stay strong. Now that you have switched you will have to take all the necessary steps.

Yeah depends on your priorities. If it's savings and staying close to parents then onsite wouldn't work.
I was in a similar situation and I chose to leave the city (city 1) I was working in before (Hybrid 2 days WFO) to another city (city 2) where I have to go office every day. Though both cities are not where my parents live but commuting was easier compared to city 2, also, I had recently got very comfortable with city 1.
I had similar offers from both cities with almost equal pay but I chose city 2 because the company was well known rather than the other offer from city 1 which was a 2-yr old startup.
I still think that I did not took the right decision as I had to sacrifice a lot more for choosing a better company with presumably better stability and leaving all the comfort and ease of access to my home and family. And looking at the current market which is very volatile and not stable for even bigger organizations, I feel that we should rather choose what we feel in our hearts rather than thinking rationally every time.
That's my personal opinion which had different factors involved. Please take your decision on the basis of your circumstances. I wish you all the best.
Because it is not about the city if it's good or bad, it's about how you feel about the place because of your circumstances.
