Money or happiness in this business? Thoughts?
KPMG I cleared all the rounds of my interview with KPMG and was asked to provide necessary documents and fill a CAF form a week back and had a HR discussion too. I have requested for about 3Lakhs additional fixed pay since my current CTC has increased and HR said she will get back on this. It's been a week and haven't heard back on the offer letter. How long do you think I should wait. Please wait.

Keep current job. Texas forever
Industry offer but negotiate to live anywhere but NY or SF. You won’t feel a raise when COLA goes up 3x and your salary isn’t also 3x.
I live in Texas and hate taxes but this isn’t exactly true. Yes they’ll really feel the pain if they try to get the exact same sort of apartment they have in Texas living alone. However, NYC has plenty of options (especially over on the NJ side of the Hudson) where they will spend a similar amount as they likely are in Texas. Then, the only difference is the income taxes and groceries being marginally more expensive but they also won’t need a car anymore which offsets some of that. Also much more common to have roommates than in Texas and have way more options which open up living in more desirable parts of the area than living alone.
What company ? I think it’s solid bonus and equity are great
It depends what you prefer. Industry will give you more wlb but there won’t be much cost saving with that offer as cost of living is higher in NY and Cali.
As someone who has worked in Texas and NY, the total compensation and industry role are more than sufficient for a move from Texas to NY/Cali. Plus, change is a good thing if you’ve been in Texas for a while.
Texas over errthang unless you want to live is a PC bubble
