eBay on my mind
Earlier i was hired to work on testing/automation but after joining training was never given on that and they took me in an internal project which i wasn't aware of. After working for more than a year i want to switch to testing, so I requested the same to a higher official. They said we can't switch you to testing as you don't have training but we can take you later on and give you training side by side with your current project. Should I believe them or switch the company. Please help PwC

Anyone at Deloitte know how to view utilization?

Look at the culture of the team - did you click with the people that you interviewed with? Do you like your acquaintances who work at those places? Take some junior folks out for coffee and get them to walk you through the details of the day - team meetings, power dynamics, amount of interaction with senior leadership, etc. Then make a call. Culture goes a long way towards job satisfaction and day to day happiness.
Kearney for career growth. I came in post-MBA, made it from Associate, EM, and elected to Principal in 4.5 years total. Next stop Partner in 3-4 years. Great exit ops too if you’re not looking to stay in consulting.
Definitely not KPMG lol
Would second what K1 said—left deloitte for KPMG and never looked back! Culture is amazing, work life balance has been better and got a significant pay increase.
Amazon, ditch consulting, less stress
amazon is amazing. great WLB (9-5) and great pay. and you can easily switch roles every 18-24 months (more often if you want), and you can try different roles in totally different industries if you want. obvi there are bad teams but i've been on two teams in 19 months and love it.
Not Deloitte. Unless you like fighting.
ATK people I’ve met are really sharp. Amazon is hell based on what my friends tell me. KPMG is nice people. D is d 😂
Kearney hands down - you’ll likely see the fastest career progression and growth in pay if you are good. Very sharp and passionate people who love to just get things done. We deal with CXO level topics so the work is very interesting if you are into that.
Thanks, K5! I’ll shoot you a note
Amazon for sure as you’ll get a great tech pay with a lot less consulting travel hassle
Everyone I know at Amazon loves it.
Kearney - loved the opportunity I've been given so far!
Kearney hands down
Same.
Depends on long term career goal. All 4 are great options
No Deloitte. I wanna leave
Which geography are you in?
@OP any websites you used for resume or behavioral interview prep? Realize that stuff is basic but you clearly killed it! Have heard RocketBlocks is pretty good for people coming from consulting...
Yes! Rocketblocks was really helpful!
I interned at Amazon for a summer during my MBA, and have done around 6 years at Deloitte (I won’t comment on the other firms). Deloitte obviously has very salient issues (traveling, WLB, some shitty projects), but I always felt bad situations were temporary, and I could network my way into better roles and growth opportunities. Amazon was undoubtedly easier (being a quasi-tech firm) with shorter hours and less pressure. But I honestly didn’t like it: my team was very clique-y and the culture was not welcoming. They are also VERY picky about doc writing, to the point of exhaustion. But I have heard this is very team dependent, I just wouldn’t want to roll the dice and get on a bad team. In the end, I prefer to have more flexibility and switch teams/projects on a shorter basis.
Amazon all the way
Def not Deloitte.
Not Kearney
Why not?
Amazon is really the dark horse here. What position?
