I can't stop thinking about work.
I have a dear friend who was recent laid off from a tech company. I’m currently in my first in-house counsel position and was able to secure the job off of cold applying and don’t really have much advice to give. I really want to help support. I know about goinhouse.com and I know people say recruiters (I never found them helpful so wondering how). How did you find your gig? Sites? Been laid off and how to bounce back? Thanks!

Marsh & McLennan I am moving 2 hours from my office. My manager says i have to come 2 days to office. When i come to the office its only me and couple of other people. No one seems to care about coming to office. When i asked manager if i can work remote i was told that its for my career development. Can you guys tell in Canada which companies are offering remote opportunities?

I highly doubt it. If you’re still in claims, those positions are in very high demand
Politely asking for 10% more is very likely to result in either an improvement to the offer or just a refusal to improve it, but you’re very unlikely to lose the offer over it.
This is good to know! I’m considering negotiating an offer, fingers crossed!
I’ve seen it happen, but it was because of the person’s attitude and for asking for WAY more than what the company was offering. Negotiating start date doesn’t indicate that you’re not engaged with the opportunity or that you’re being unreasonable. I think you’re in good shape.
The market looks different for workers due to the Great Resignation.
I counter every offer and I have not seen this. When I was earlier in my career it was a concern. But it’s just more the anxiousness. You know they won’t do it but are scared of the what if. Go ahead and counter.
Typically they try to hire and give a start date based on orientation date and when the training class starts since they usually train a group at a time. If you requested a later start date that passes the training class start date, they may bump you to the next training class. I don’t think you have anything to worry about since there’s a high demand for claims adjusters.
