Any tips for advocating for yourself at work? I'm way overdue for a raise but I am not generally great at standing up for myself, speaking assertively, or inserting myself where I feel I might be impolite or pushy.
Went for a promotion this year, didn’t get it. I should next year, barring something catastrophic happens. If I leave for another big 4 now, about 20% pay hike, plus higher title. Ultimate goal is to
Officially promoted from Staff 2 to Senior. Was identified as an "outstanding performer." What's the raise going to look like? (Southeast Assurance)
Money or Title? I say long term, title is more valuable cause you can hop in 15 months at a 40% raise.
For those who were at mid-tier firms and have left PA/are interviewing, did you feel that your exit opportunities were limited due being at a mid-tier? I’m genuinely curious as I’ll be joining a mid-tier and I am coming from a regional firm. Hoping to pay my dues for another 2-3 years to get senior promotion and get my CPA (halfway done) then exit PA. Don’t really want to hop into B4 but everyone always talks about the B4 prestige being a huge resume booster.
My manager speaks about a pyramid fitting in the month of December for promotion. Does Accenture US have any promotion cycle as I know performance discussions happen in June?
Started new job at a non-F500 (CorpDev) this week (got offered +45% over my previous base). Received an offer today from EY, which is +35% over my current base. I kinda like the CorpDev gig more and have very little motivation to join EY (that particular team). Can I still use their offer to pump up my current base here at the non-F500? How can I ask for a raise and not set wrong impression so early on?
I recently moved out of my apartment complex 2 weeks ago and ended my lease early because I had to move for work. The leasing office calls me today and said they “forgot” to bill me for a $1200 rent concession I received when I first moved in (First Month free rent promotion). After looking the lease, I found the clause but I really don’t want to pay especially when they made the mistake on not billing me and are just now following up 2 weeks later. Advice? Ideas? Similar situations?
Hi! I’m a solution analyst, hired on a year ago as a campus hire. What is the typical raise associated with promotion to solution specialist? Is there a merit-based raise as well as a separate promotion raise? Just want an idea of what to expect. I’m also curious regarding the performance splits—how much more of a raise can a top performer expect than an average performer? Thanks!
Is now an ok time to quit and find a new job or is it a pretty flooded market? My company hasn’t given me a raise in years and I’m being paid 40% less than what newly hired producers at my level at making
I recently received variance in snapshot to DTE hours, saying I need to raise additional snapshots to cover 80% of DTE hours, but the performance snapshot window is closed now. Any idea how to proceed with this?
FAANG secondment for 2 years. Would you do it and are there any disadvantages you can think of? Joined consulting to try many things but 2 years seem a bit long. Wondering if this would impact future compensation and opportunities; especially when my manager promotion is in the upcoming fiscal year.
Anyone else in midlaw not get a bonus, raise or even a fucking COL adjustment? Or is that just me? 100+ attorney firm located in Silicon Valley. Time to polish up that resume….
I am about to get an offer. When I mentioned about having to leave my year end bonus, recruiter asked for documentation for last years bonus. I don’t want to provide that because : 1. That number is not reflective of this year bonus ( I am also up for promotion this year ) 2. They will get to know my base pay What to do in this situation. Please suggest. Thanks in advance
If I am being marketed in proposals as a senior and being referred to on engagements as “our senior staff” but I am only a staff, can I use this to leverage an early promotion to senior?

2.5 YOE in consulting - being offered partnerships role at Sony. Comp doubled but am also interviewing with MBB. Should I take it or stick with consulting? I’ve enjoyed consulting so far (to promote this year), but am also a music lover!! Not sure if exiting now is ideal if I can exit out to a more senior role in future. Any ideas on how’d you approach this?

Folks is there a Star Alliance Gold ARRIVAL lounge at DEL? Looked online but could only see the departure ones.
Can I be fired for refusing to travel right now? Don’t want to due to covid risk. Raised this concern but was told I might just have to anyways. Can they fire me if I just don’t go? I’ve said very clearly I will not go, and don’t think they’re going to accept that answer.
Thoughts on moving from B4 Advisory to Houlihan Lokey in their Valuations practice? Portfolio Valuations and Advisory group to be exact. Not sure what the WLB, career progression, or comps are at Houlihan Lokey. Any insights on this team and what I can look at for comps, etc.? Thanks in advance!
Took PTO today so I can catch up on work. So I can actually do real work instead of sitting in useless client meetings for 10 hrs every day then having to pull a night shift to do the work 🤷🏻♀️

Is Covid finally becoming endemic? Most Omicron cases (according to my ER wife nurse) are very mild, and not worth the hospital visit. How will/should this impact us as educators?
Hi Guys, I am a new member on this platform. I'm looking for a role change and wish to work in the consulting space (strategy/management/supply chain/business). I have 5 years of experience in the textile industry. I've had the opportunity to work on the manufacturing and sourcing side managing supply chain for international clients. I'm currently providing freelance consulting services on project basis. Any of your referrals to job openings at consulting firms would really help. Thanks
