Not at all I think this trend toward glass offices at some firms is transparently to increase productivity at the expense of privacy and it’s inhumane
Hahahaha revised comment. Guess my autocorrect knows me very well.
We have wooden doors but glass front walls next to the door. Between that and the window on the other side it’s very fish tank-ish.
At least I think that’s what it looks like, I haven’t been in there since March 13, 2020.

I think I’ve had all glass offices (not even frosted) my whole career. Idea is to let in more light to let the staff have sun I think.
That’s a pretext IMO
I had the wooden door but with a side window arrangement at our old office. I actually liked it better than the new office where it’s just a door. I feel like I’m stuck in a box.
The only problem with the window was that my skirt tended to ride up as I worked and the front of our desks were open. Awkward. Solved with a blanket in my lap.
And also I had to hide behind the door when I needed a private cry LOL
Needed a private what
Our whole office is glass and I’ve definitely had moments where I wished I could just close an actual door, but a “do not disturb” sticky note on the door does the trick and as a junior associate, being able to walk by and see if someone’s busy has been a godsend. Seems to be an unpopular opinion though!
Not just as a junior associate. And also the other way round. If I can signal to someone that I am on a call instead of them barging in, much preferred.
Could be worse. You could be open floor plan at Cooley 🙃
Had full open plan (including partners) at Kennedys. Worst thing ever.
And with the open plan, all the lawyers sat in the middle of the office floor space in clusters whilst the secretaries and support staff were ringed around the lawyer clusters - effectively getting all the seats with a view/window.
If it makes you feel any better, all the firms I have worked in have glass WALLS between offices too, albeit they are frosted up to about shoulder height.
It's not too bad as long as there arent those with a tendency to peer over the top and lurk on your floor.
Frosting changes everything.

I specifically didn't take a bigger office at my firm because the bigger office had a huge window into the hall.
Also, what would I have done when I was pumping breast milk? Changing my clothes?
Honestly, I hated it but you get used to it. It makes the whole office brighter too, which is nice.
I’ve worked at an office with glass walls for my entire career and I hate it so much. Not only does it violate my privacy, but there is no respect for the door. People walk in without knocking and it’s frowned upon to ask people to knock. This is why I love WFH.
It is so useful though to be able to see if someone is in a meeting or on the phone without having to knock and disturb them.

Google "Joan Home." I was legit considering getting this for my office.
I like my solid wood door so I can scarf down my microwave lunch in a little privacy. Used to like it so I could pump for my baby. Would not like a glass door
