You need to hire more women. (JK)
Why “jk?”
So your argument of “try to hire women in my industry,” doesn’t hold water. That’s your job. You don’t get to say “well, I looked. No one there 🤷🏾♂️.” That’s just a lazy, canned response.
Diversity, equity and inclusion isn’t a light switch you turn on. It’s a set of moving parts: you need to do a better job of communicating to your audience and attracting a diverse slate of candidates. That 5% that is women? THEY need to tell their stories. And other women need to see those stories and see themselves.
And before anyone says “they were asking about tickets,” the op brought the gap up. I don’t understand the relevance either. But they’ve obviously noticed it too.

It’s a cultural issue.
Patriarchy conditions women to appease men by being more ‘like them’.
I’ve seen women declaring to their male friends that they’re not like the other women. You know- the ones who create drama, are vocal about their emotions and crib about having a seat on the table.
I mean, how dare they! 😆
At the beginning of my career, I worked with the worst possible women; both peers and leaders. And I left my first job because of a female peer who was toxic and bitter. Working with her was draining me on a daily basis, and I had put my foot down.
I was naive enough to believe the same thing- that women can’t be good professionals/leaders.
And then I met men who were equally obnoxious (if not more). Made me realize that maybe it’s not a gender-specific issue, and some people are just unpleasant to work with.
The worst manager I ever had was notorious for temper tantrums, losing their cool in a split second, treating their subordinates like crap, oversharing their personal issues and taking out their personal anger/frustrations on their team.
It was a man.
All of us extrapolate our limited data points, and make it seem like a trend.
Which is unfair to the section of population we’re biased against.
You call them men but in a response post you call women "females" and say they are too dramatic and catty for you. Incels call women females too. What an interesting "coincidence"
You are either just a hateful "female" or a boy..
I'd probably just do a raffle. Quick, easy and completely random so it's fair and people won't complain about it (hopefully).
Hopefully I can remember correctly how we did this. Each month, you had to get your game picks to a specific person for the following month. So an email would go out with a calendar with the dates and times of the home games and you had until the 20th to get your picks to the designated person for the following months' games. You also designated if you wanted 1, 2, 3 or all 4 tickets. From there, they drew names out of a hat. You could only win one game a month unless they went around the horn then you could win 2 games.
Of course some people would take a coworker so they could see more games.
I know this is very off topic, but sports technology sounds awesome. Would you mind sharing the name of the company? I just want to look into it and maybe apply! Haha
Hey! Understood! I hope you don’t think I wasn’t being genuine! It just sounds like a product I would love working for. Could be hard to tell with so many voices here! Keep crushing!
Could you put a limit on number of games per season, and have people sign up for each ticket for each game? Like a calendar-type thing? Not everyone will be able to make every game, and with the limit on number of games someone can attend it gives everyone a fair shot. Not sure if that requires too much organization ahead of time for people to "book" which game they want to go to though.
Alternatively I'd say a raffle/name out of a hat may be most fair.
That’s your concern?
We have something similar. Registration form for those interested, raffle for the names, they have a certain period of time to confirm the tickets before moving onto the next.
We rotate for client gifts and sales competitions we do. Could work on the tech side if your trying to meet deadlines etc.
