How do you figure out who your spirit animal is?
McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company been working here one year and received pretty positive feedback. Given the expectation for people of my tenure to transition to EM in a year or so, I can’t see myself staying due to the WLB as an EM. I’m 35 and have 2 young kids. Can it even be realistically done? Would love to stay but I don’t see a balance which would keep my family happy. What options do I have from there?
Taking it to the next level. 🎂😅

Grand Cayman
Try and dive at the Great Barrier Reef before it's all gone
Congrats! Gili T - small island east of Bali. Really want to dive in the Philippines but haven't had the chance yet...
Cozumel, drift diving
Philippines
I haven't been to most of these but heard they're all amazing: Komodo island, raja ampat, Palau, Maldives, Galapagos, Bonaire, Red Sea, Cozumel, little cayman, Kona (manta ray night dive).
You will dive many places and have a favorite memory from each dive. Hard to pick one place as a favorite.
Roatan Honduras
galapagos!
Belize. Sharm el sheikh Egypt. Great Barrier Reef. Cozumel. Malta. Iceland. Roatan.
Muff
@SC1, you are gross
Was going to say same as P4. GBR is like absolutely nowhere else. Go fast before it's gone
Cayman Islands - not crowded and the reefs are in beautiful condition
Phuket, although I didn't like the town, the diving was great. Bali as well
The next place... love Curacao west punt, BVI, caymans etc
Reiterating what folks said above- Gili T, Palawan Islands and Roatan. Congrats! 🐟🐠
Koh Tao
- Nusa lembongan near Bali is great, some manta rays if lucky, sharks
- Gili Islands are great, although you be careful about the suggested dives, they sometimes offer dives too close to Bali which results in a lot of boat time, otherwise good corals, fish, turtles
- Amed in Bali is awesome, some accessible wreck diving there too, even for open water
- Maldives are terrific, especially if you're looking for coral reefs (even post-2004, a lot of it is still very impressive), loads of manta rays of in the migrating season
- Ko tao (and to a lesser extend ko samui) in Thailand offers a series of magnificent dives, you'll have high quantity and quality (read: diversity and rarity) of fishes. Make sure to choose a cool diving centre
- Sharm el sheikh, Egypt, is ok if you want something close to Europe
- Cebu, Philippines is comparable to Thailand but the infrastructure is - in my opinion - less good
- Galapagos is fantastic, different from all the rest. Did some deep dives (not in a consulting way) there. Colder, less fish but amazing. If you're lucky you'll be able to dance with a sealion
Have some adresses in south east Asia I'm happy to share if interested
Surprised no one mentioned the BVI - Wreck of the Rhone is a favorite...
BVI is amazing my dive group takes over cooper island every year or two and we do the Rhone in 3 dives along with several other wrecks.
