Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

I am a Nodejs developer and having 5 years of experience. They ask event loop question because they want to know whether the candidate aware of the working functionality of nodejs or not. Yes they run behind the scenes.
To explain this here is a simple example suppose he is implementing or playing with setimmediate and process.tick , generally people memorize it that process.tick will execute first and the other with after it but why it is. If a person know about event loop and macro and micro stacks he will exactly know how it is happening and it will help him to debug his code well. This is just an example.
Hey, I agree with you to an extent. But then again if you know how setimmediate or process.tick work(practical knowledge), you can easily debug the issues. But yes having knowledge of the underlying system helps.
What I think is we only need to know these concepts if we are working on improving performance of react/node or build features using these. If we just need to build backend API's and web applications why we need these?
