Blah blah covid… blah blah unemployment, then new job, then unemployment. Fast forward. I got contracted short-term for a tier 1 ERP conversion and implementation project, pulling/re-mapping/tying out loads of GL data for import. The VP I work for is baller but… My head is swimming with legacy accounting systems, entities, formulas, ERP lingo, 5000 VPNs, and all new remote co-workers. It’s terrifying to be so unsure of your capabilities and I fear for myself and this undertaking.

Has anyone ever had the same big4 start date with the same end date of the previous big4 they left for the new one? basically they won't let me quit during the summer break so now my end date is coinciding with my start date at the new place... is there any thing I should be careful for from an independence standpoint?

For accounting managers and above in industry - what metrics do you have to evaluate your team’s performance? I’m new to industry and my company doesn’t have anything but I’d like to set some goals for my team such as closing by 5th business day, getting all recons done by 20th of the month, submitting JEs by date indicated on close checklist, reducing number of manual JEs, etc. Looking for other ideas that can be quantified and tracked.
