Any parents who are still on the safe side with Covid? We have a 1 year old and being safe and staying mostly home is really getting to me. Most of our friends have kids who are able to mask up or are vaccinated and it’s getting quite isolating. Especially now mask mandates are being lifted feeling like we can’t go anywhere without risking our kid.

My bf is still going to the gym. We live together, and I’m very uncomfortable with it. Am I being paranoid? Or are the concerns valid?

For those who live in the city and have kids, what is your advice on navigating Chicago Public Schools? Do not think we will be able to afford private school for 2 kids.

I thought about moving to the suburbs. But then I realize spending 2 hours commute everyday from the suburbs to downtown is not sustainable, given how much we work.

Would appreciate thoughts you have on 1) staying in the city vs moving to suburbs 2) balancing good education for kids & daily commute

My closest friend of 15 years told me she's been in love with me for several years. I don't know what to do. She's my closest friend. We talk about everything under the sun. I don't want to lose her. I could feel the pain in her voice as she told me this. She already knows she's just a friend to me. I'm serious about my girlfriend and we've discussed getting married. Is there anything I can do to lessen her pain and preserve the friendship?

(Biglaw UK 1st year) Feeling utterly incompetent. Everyone in my class year are extremely capable and put together, while I can’t even properly review a document with a ready-made checklist. My tasks aren’t even challenging; they just require a bit of patience but I can’t help but screw up. I am exhausted, can’t concentrate, and debilitated by anxiety. I can’t stop comparing with my peers and worrying that my bosses are disappointed. Is anyone in the same boat so I feel less alone😂

I have a business idea in the VR/AR space utilizing AI. However, I lack skill sets to evaluate viability or to create an MVP. Neither do I have a network to tap into.

My plan is taking classes to deepen my knowledge while joining and actively participating in communities to find collaborators.

Does this approach make sense or do you recommend other approaches? If it makes sense, do you have any recommendations for classes or communities?

Look forward to hearing your experiences and wisdom!

Recently started a book about politics and the author argues that we (the educated, professional class) are to blame for polarization. Since we are well paid and generally unaffected regardless of who is in power, our positions on issues can be uncompromising. Furthermore, we don’t go out and really engage in campaigns. This is because we’d rather argue amongst ourselves from home. This leads to vacuums where bad actors can take up the mantle of leadership. What do you think about that?

What a massive miscalculation and needless hill to die on from the GOP with blocking the PACT Act. GOP has apparently agreed on the bill (per reporting), but why hold it up in the first place? And then lie and spread misinformation about why they did? They backed themselves in a pointless corner, gaslighted everyone, and then conceded looking weak. 🙄
