Ok am I just being a baby or is this a legit reason to be annoyed? I just started a new job at a pretty small agency. Uprooted my whole life to move here. Everyone was very welcoming via email but nobody has given me a welcome lunch or happy hour. I ask people via slack if they want to do lunch and they say oh next time but then never can. I just feel kinda left out and like nobody cares. Or is this not that big of a deal? Idk I’m not high maintenance but I feel simple lunch wouldn’t hurt…

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

The long: One technique I’ve found to stay focused is “body doubling,” i.e., having another person present while you’re working. I’ve had some success replicating this over Zoom/Google Meet. Everyone works on their own thing and stays muted during work blocks, but videos stay on. It reminds me of studying in the library vs at home

Recommendation for a tax person to help with complicated taxes - husband and I lived in NJ for part of 2021, he worked remotely for an nyc and then Long Island co., I worked in NJ and for a MA firm. We also both took parental leave and taxes weren’t taken out of some of that pay. Also, need child credit for said child who the IRS doesn’t know about yet.

Currently going through the hiring process for a role in San Francisco. They told me the starting base was $110K, but this sounds like pennies in a city like San Francisco!
