Add “go!” to the end of everything you say in the meeting
Honestly I don't think you can do any better than a playdough volcano. As far as chemistry goes, it doesn't get much simpler and always excites a crowd. Best practices... always, ALWAYS, wear your safety goggles. I don't mean to harp, but anything can happen in chemistry and your eye sight is not something you want to mess with. Be a stick in the mud if your partner is refusing to wear theirs. The last thing you want on your shoulders is the knowledge that you could have prevented a tragedy if you had only adhered to the safety guidelines... BELIEVE ME! Hope this helps.
Set off a volcano mid meeting and shout, “go!” Got it. Very helpful fellow ad people, thank you.
I will actively hate someone if I know they're a "GO!" person. It sounds petty (and probably is), but I simply cannot offer anything constructive after being told to "GO!"...I loathe it that much. And I know I'm not alone.
Research them ahead of time and identify buddies who match with small talk interests.
Make it mostly about them. Do not start with you. Do research, ask questions, get them talking about what they think about their business, where they want to go, what keeps them up at night. Save all the “we’re a global multi-service agency with blah blah” until the end. They should leave the meeting feeling like the project has started and they know what it’s like to work with you. Don’t make them sit through a presentation where you TELL them what it’s like to work with you
These are tough. Normally best to have some observations and provocations on the category, business and cultural trends to trigger discussion and debate. Make sure your whole team are on listen mode and not just talking at them the whole time. And keep the team small and mixed - (generally) clients want to feel like they are meeting the people they are actually going to be working with, not just the exec.
GO! SUCKS!
