What practice OP? Just be respectful and professional: “I want to pursue this as this aligns with what I want to do with my life given my personal circumstances. I appreciate the time I spent here and might consider being back at a future point in time. I would like to keep in touch! “

^frustrated he keeps getting turned down at Deloitte.

Don't stress out at all. Our business assumes a high attrition rate, and a moderate potential for boomeranging or becoming a future client. No one wants to burn a bridge with you because our world is too small to do so. And your senior leadership understands this more than you would expect.

Just be upfront and respectful. Also, don't take it personally if you are escorted to the door the day you resign (if you are going to a competitor). Its just business.

Nope starting my own business and moving in with my so. I need a change of pace.. I literally had a mental breakdown and was rushed to the emergency room a month ago --- they don't know this nor would they care. I've literally had all shit hit the fan in the personal realm and it's too much. I'm going to lose it b/c I'm so unhappy- leaders in my practice could give give a care they aren't compassionate ppl but I have respect for workplace even the level of respect is low for me.. I'm on a project with ppl I like which sucks but I almost died like a month ago so this shit is just not worth it. I just expect leadership to be assholes about it so idk how to best msg

Thx P5, really appreciate that

Showing them respect but need good advice on how to handle this with class nonetheless. I expect to face some backlash and possibly fake surprise and/or harshness by my partner... such a toss up here. Still want to go high if they go low so tips on process/messaging appreciated

*want to exit with grace

Where you going?

You going to a competitor out industry? They'll have to temper their animus is the latter and will make it easier for you

*or

*couldn't give

*even though (ugh auto correct)

You didn't even let anyone know - so how do you know how they would have reacted - oh, wait, because the world revolves around you and your leadership, in addition to supporting a gazillion clients and issues should check to see if you need a hug. You aren't fit for consulting - it's good you figured it out. Nobody will give you a hard time about leaving, it's just a fact of life that some people leave as it's a tough business to stay in. I'm sure they will wish you the best.

If the same company is hiring for two very similar but different positions and you qualify for both, do you apply to both? Additional caveat is that I interviewed for one of them last week. No word yet on whether I made it to the next round. Would gladly accept either position, but not sure how it would look if I apply for the second position while still being considered for the first. On the flip side, I don't want to miss the window on the second position while waiting to hear back...thoughts?

Hi, we're searching for a job in HR for my wife. She's an MBA from India and has 10 years of work experiences across various HR roles in FMCG and Tech. Her last role was a HR BP and India site lead for a US based semiconductor major.
Is CIPD necessary to get a comparable role in the UK? While we undersrand it's a new market, would she necessarily need to start from a basic role again? It's difficult to balance studies, work and manage a 2 y.o. Any pointers or job openings would be appreciated.

Hello! I’ve been working as a photographer for 15 years both as an employee and a freelancer. I started working full time with my current company a year ago. They’ve just offered me a new position: Creative Services Manager (in house for 4 related brands). I have no official experience in this field and had never heard of it before but feel like it will essentially be a creative director. I will also maintain the photography duties for the time being. Any idea what salary I should ask for?

I got a call for a Java position. I told them I do not develop in Java. I do JavaScript with React. He says “oh yes, that is what the client wants”. So I sent my resume. When he sent the confirmation email it stated Angular/Java. I told him that I don’t have much Java skills. He then sent this (pic) as a response. 🤔🤔🤔
When I spoke to the client she had no idea why the recruiter added angular react as it was just a Java developer position, Completely wasted so much time

Hi all, I got laid off from my current company (product based) a month ago. Since then I've been looking for new opportunities. I got an offer from a good product based company with a good package and also my current company offering me rehire with promotion and a good package. I have a good rapport with my current manager, and he played a major role in offering this rehire opportunity. I'm confused about making the right decision here. Kindly share your views. Both offers are pretty much same.

There’s an opportunity to step up into the role of Director of Product, but I’ve only got 2.5 years of experience and am already being paid below average by like 15%. I’ve accepted this because A. My company has historically underpaid people but I still like the people and B. My lack of experience. I think a promotion would come with a raise, but the percentage difference would most likely only grow and I’m not sure that would be ok with the responsibilities I’d be stepping into. Any advice?
