Ok, I'm biased because I'm voting character this year. I think a good leader empowers people to do better and come together and has an empathetic voice that connects on a human level. I have yet to see that in Trump even when I was desperately searching for it in him in the early days of covid. However, how do people think Biden will destroy this country? I understand if you don't agree with his policy, but he's not a socialist and maybe the worst thing about him is obamacare which trump...

No one actually believes Biden will destroy the country. Except some loonies, may be

It's the fear of losing power that drives people to come up with stupid rationalizations to justify their actions.

Biden is literally there to make Kamala POTUS. He will resign in his first term. I'd bet so many thousands, maybe my whole 401k on it

I feel like the Trump family probably has a safe place for you to put your money...they owned casinos!

... hasn't changed, so I just don't understand the argument that he'll destroy the country. Honest question.

The content of the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force platform is what concerns me. It sounds much more Sanders than Biden. $7T in additional spending combined with $4T in taxes. He's gone much more socialist to shore up support from Bernie people. I can tolerate Trump's personality over socialism in any form.

like

C1-Most of which is either public safety or a infrastructure that is necessary for interstate commerce. You wouldn't find many conservatives who disagree with spending in these areas. Where there is a lot of disagreement is redistributive policies like universal basic income, student loan debt forgiveness, and a single payer system which are supported exclusively on the left.

All of these are efforts to add large bureaucracies that completely separate the funding of these expenditures (by high earners) from the receipt of the benefits (nearly entirely by low.. or no... earners). The cost of these programs would only grow with time and life expectancy increases like Social Security and Medicare have. We have stayed globally competitive in the absence of these programs in a way we could not have without functioning roads or with the anarchy of not having police and fire departments.

Over the last 12 months my role changed significantlu so in Jan I approached the CEO about a raise and promotion more in line with my work and he said yes - but not until until the end of Q1 when budgets are finalized. Covid hit and I was told all promotions and raises were put on hold. I never got a Q2 review bc my manager said the raise was up in the air still. But on Friday the CEO sent an email listing 17 promotions, not including me. Im meeting w my manager tomorrow but idk what to say.

Our company usually does performance evaluations in June of each year. Our pay philosophy is not clear. We usually give a COLA in January each year, somewhere around 2% and if an employee performed well, they get above the 2%. I have suggested we change our process to have a clear pay philosophy with increases tied to performance, with goals tied to overall goals of the organization. What is your process? Are you doing performance evals during COVID?

I have this weird huge anxiety around sending out emails to my BU. Personally, it’s because I’ve received feedback that I’m not concise or clear in my written communication. I also send my email drafts to my manager first, & she’s been supportive and improving them for me. Which is great! But I feel a tad embarrassed. How do you guys feel about pets in the office? Personally they are very annoying and inconsiderate. I have a manager who brings Tinstletoe in every day and Tinstletoe (who names their dog a seasonal name?? Or wtf is that name even?) isn't even potty trained, but it's always "easy to wipe up". I have found some messes in the kitchen and have been the one to "wipe up" before. It happens maybe once a month type frequency. She's sort of a tyrant of a person in the office so no one really wants to talk to her about it, but then Tinstletoe runs the show. We have another person in the office who has a really well behaved dog, and everyone loves that one and would be "devastated" to lose her, but then we're stuck with TT because no one has the heart, or the backbone to get rid of these animals. (in the office I mean...)

Trump had one job as a leader. Be a leader to all and give his best to his abilities. Unfortunately he took advantage of the position and kept dividing the country, he upset a lot of people and just believed his base will win him a second term, very bad idea Trump. 4 years ago when he won I was not happy but I wanted him to succeed and prove us all wrong. He failed woefully, he is done out here!!!
