Ok so. I have been on this journey for almost a year now to try and 'get to know and love myself' and I'm not there yet. I separated from my ex in March of 2020 and divorce was finalized in October 2020. I'm still sad, lost, angry etc. I'm trying/tried therapy, meditation, ayurveda, self help videos, books, but I'm not happy with myself and I don't think I know myself. I want to be happy alone before I meet anyone new. Any tips or advice on how I can effectively accomplish this? Thank you!

Time is the best remedy for you. Your pain will lessen over time. It's been only 9 months or so, so be kind to yourself if you still feel a lot of negative feelings. Whenever you feel those negative emotions coming up, try to forgive yourself for those thoughts and feelings, and remind yourself that this will pass. You will be whole again, and you will find someone else much better suited for you. That day will come. For now, just focus on healing and know that you will be healed. We have our own timeline in life,, don't be discouraged if you feel like this period seems to last forever-- it will be over, when it is time. Best of luck!

Sorry you are experiencing all those emotions right now. Been there and done that. Here’s what worked for me...set up a routine, work, workout (get some outdoor time like hike, run or cycle,etc), social (talk to family and trusted friends), watch uplifting movies, comedy, read what you like - could be fiction or philosophy or whatever gets your mind a break, pamper yourself - some wine or desserts or bath soak will do wonders, journal your thoughts, acknowledge your emotions and recognize why you feel that way, yoga, meditation and therapy which you are already doing are all great. It takes time to heal but you will start noticing a difference. Reach out if you would like to DM and certainly lean on sisterhood 🤗🤗

Be patient with yourself. You’ve only been separated for 9 months and officially divorced for 4. It might take a few years for you to get there. Keep up with the therapy though for sure. When my fiancé and I split things off it took me about 1.5 years to get there. So it will take some time.

Do you have hobbies that involve creativity/making things? Knitting, drawing, any sort of crafting. When I knit or doodle it soothes the 'monkey brain' that needs a tactile thing with visual progress. I've found that then helps me get centered and I can work through things that have been bothering me.

1.Please try to engage or keep yourself busy as much as you can.
2. I am sure you might be doing this, try to arrest the sad feeling by diverting to something that you are thankful about in life.
3. It's okay, not everything is meant to happen the way we earlier would have thought of. Forgive and let go (I don't know the reasons you have) , all of this consumes a lot of space in your heart and mind.I'm no saint but it did help me in moving on in life after breaking up with my BF( I had lot of anger ,sadness, pitied myself, blamed him)
4. Get a new hobby, something that challenges you and keeps you engrossed.
5. Meditate 5-15mins if you can daily, thank me later.

When you've just learned you are pregnant and you don't have your first appointment until 3 weeks from now (and you don't want to tell anyone yet), how do you figure out what you can and cannot do safely (other than searching on Google which yields conflicting results).
