Ok to list 3 supervising attorneys from my last firm as my 3 professional references? Or should I pick references from different areas of my life/career?

I think it’s ok if you know/are fairly confident that they will give a positive review.
I’d be worried about listing a reference if they weren’t going to rave about me...

I worked for prior firm for so long that they were the best professional references I could ask for - and the only ones. I don’t think it’s that big of deal. If your new employer wants variety, they will tell you.

Context? Fine for a bar form. For an employer I'd be tempted to list at least one person from a different position.

For in house - I’ve already been hired and they want references. I’m still w/ the defense firm and haven’t given my two weeks. I worked at this plaintiff’s firm for like 4 years prior to defense, so I’m worried about giving a reference from my law school employers (from like 2015/2016) or law school professors

Obviously, I'm already thinking about what I'd do next. I'd love to stay in tech. Just curious if anyone has experience with a short-term contract & what the job-search process looks like during/after the contract expires.

As a 1st year, would you leave your firm to take a lower paying job that offered more training and mentorship?

I've been at my firm for several months but I don't feel comfortable there for many reasons and I'm not getting the training or billables promised. I've been offered a salaried job that's less than what I was promised (but not getting) at my current firm but is promising more mentorship and a more open environment. I have a feeling the mentorship will pay off in the long run. Thoughts?
