Hey everyone, my friend had an offer at Salesforce in Dublin and supposed to start on Monday. Friday 5pm they called him to retract the offer on account of his nationality. He has a European visa and they knew it from the start but waited until last minute to terminate the contract. They only discussed this orally but he’s waiting for an email confirmation. Anyone ever heard of a similar situation and any tips on what he can do? He also rejected 2 other offers for this job. Thanks!
Hi Tech team, I've come across this amazing opportunity at JPMorgan Chase JPM : London, which is a great match to my skills and expertise. I'm very keen on interviewing for this role & would like to connect, seek referral and any advice before submitting my application. Any JPM folks here please feel free to dm me. My expertise lies in banking, FS, APIs, digital transformation, innovation products. Thanks i look forward to your reply.
As much as I want to say throw that VP under the bus, I’d recommend you proceed with caution. Do you have any proof to corroborate? You should look into HR policies for anonymity if that exists. A lot of companies have protections for employees these days
OP also has the option of going to the pregnant colleague, if OP trusts her to never reveal OP’s involvement. Colleague could then see a labor attorney asap so she can fortress herself.
Oh my god. He said it that clearly? Does your company have an ombuds/ anybody you can go to anonymously for advice on navigating? Are you sure nobody else heard/ your boss knows you heard?
Report it and leave
That is one of my worst nightmares! Definitely report it if there is a way to do so without endangering your own job (because your company sounds unethical if this is more than an isolated incident).
If you report it and the pregnant employee is let go, they will know that it was a premeditated unethical fire. HR or compliance team should be able to handle it.
that seems...oof that's bad. Agree with above, were you the only one around that heard it?
I really felt sorry for the employee. It would be very correct to inform about such a situation.
