Is it common in the industry for licensed insurance agents to not get any commissions on a referral in which you personally write the policy? Ex: If a current client refers a prospect to our team, I would not receive commission. Additionally, if I write a policy for friends/family I would get a small incentive but it’s a fraction of the commission producers make.
Management is considering changing this going forward. However, I’m not sure how I should react if they keep things how they are now.

I keep on interviewing for new roles and keep on getting passed up. Am told my experience is great, but there are more qualified candidates. I have asked for feedback and understand everyone is busy, but I’m getting really frustrated.
