Fantastic article. Thanks for sharing. That 40+ percent statistic actually gives me solace in my own decision knowing that there's a lot of women now who feel the same. Unfortunately, the patronizing and intrusive conversations won't go away anytime soon.

I'm always immediately bristled when people say, "I felt the same exact way until I had kids. Trust me, you'll change your mind" or "You're going to regret it" or "How does your husband feel about this?" These types of dialogue assume that I didn't make this decision seriously or that my husband and I haven't discussed.

Like we don’t say those things to people who want kids? Why would they say such things to us? People need to mind their own business!

So I've been with my significant other who I love to the moon for the last 5 years & we're getting married in August. We've both always been on the same page about wanting kids one day but now, I've found myself wanting kids less and less. Anyone else been in this place? How did you approach it with your SO?

Anyone else hate Mother’s Day? I feel like I have to explain why I don’t have kids and I absolutely love my family, but they always include me in Mother’s Day celebrations... they give me cards and gifts celebrating me as an “auntie” or a “cat mom” feels like a consolation prize or something.

I just found this tax info out which only hurts unmarried individuals and benefits married. I wanted to sell my home due to equity in it at todays listing prices and apparently if a single individual, any home that sells more than 200k over your original purchase price you have to pay a huge capital gains tax… now,if your married they give you a 400k differential and anything over that you pay capital gains. Ex. Unclear of why this tax law hasn’t been updated? Wow! It’s an extremely biased

Funny experience - I was in the line at a craft store and started chatting with the people around me. Person in front of me was annoyed about having to craft valentines for her kid's class. Person behind me was getting a late start on his kid's science project. They asked me what I was in for.

Me: oh I don't have kids, so I'm picking up a new hobby (watercoloring).

Them: oh. You must have a lot of free time and money huh.

Me: yeah it's pretty great 😃👍

Hello Childfree Friends!

Question (slightly grim but I intend for it to be lighthearted)— what do people without kids plan on doing with their estate/ wealth once you’re sniffing the daisies?

People always talk about how they’re “working to leave something for the kids” and unfortunately I don’t think my fur baby legally counts.

It’s been something on my mind lately & I’d love to hear what others who are child-free are planning. There’s obviously spouse, parents, siblings, but what else?
