Seeing all these Deloitte "tellyourstory" posts on LinkedIn and no one is telling their story about the forced pay cuts or unnecessary layoffs.

For anyone who was laid off this year, were you able to negotiate your severance pay?

So I was laid off, it came as a pretty big shock but the worst part was the way they did it. I have been laid off a couple of times before and have always had time to say my goodbyes and in the other 2 cases found new jobs before my last day. This felt more like a firing, a hr rep showed up to my one on one with my boss and said your being laid off effective immediately. I know this is how they handled it in the past as well but it really sucks. Anyone else have this experience?

TLDR: junior associates just don’t get it. When I was a junior associate I couldn’t imagine telling a senior associate on the day an assignment was due that I had other more urgent deadlines and I couldn’t get to their assignment. Are you kidding me? When we’re you going to communicate this? Am I supposed to just pick up the slack here and do your work for you? Our client deadline hasn’t changed. Was it just going to magically get done? WTF

OK gonna maybe open a can of worms here but I have to ask: it seems the sudden inflation we're seeing has taken the ins. ind. by surprise. The cost/expense projections done X yrs. ago for this and poss'y subsequent yrs. have been thrown off. Costs to repair/replace cars have shot up unexpectedly. Same for houses. Med costs have all gone up. Ins. cos. have relatively thin profit margins to begin with. There's talk of cost-cutting measures-- incl. layoffs. How realistic are these concerns?

Is there a difference between 250k salary and 400k salary? Both salaries are watching spiderman on opening night. Both salaries have food on the table and a roof over their heads. One has a 65in tv vs the other has 75in. One drives a BMW the other a Tesla. I make around 250k and to increase my salary I will have to work a lot more. Is it really worth having more money, at some point it is just a number and quality of life doesn't improve. In fact it could be worse with the extra hours.

Hi Guys. Need help evaluating two offers: 1. McKinsey - Associate in Risk Consulting - $165K base/30K sign-on. NYC/Chicago. 2. Facebook - Program Manager in Security and Privacy - $160K base/$100K RSUs over 4 years/$20K sign-on. Bay Area I have 6 YOE at Deloitte in Cyber since graduating college. Has always been a desire to work at McK but don’t plan to stay in Consulting long term. Was all set to join McK until this offer came along. Any advice on what factors I need to consider?

Does Deloitte have a Cyber Associate position or do they only have 3+ YOE Consultant positions? I have 1 YOE under my belt

Noob Deloitte question - 1st year advisory consultant -> 2nd year advisory consultant. What is the % range of increase in your salary?
