I am struggling with motivation. My job is good - it’s interesting and engaging. My health is good - I’m exercising regularly and I feel pretty healthy. Kids good, spouse ok - but I just came off PTO and I have zero interest in hitting it hard right now. I think it’s burn out, but I’m doing everything I’m supposed to be doing to fix that. I just don’t want to logon to a full day/week of video conference calls. It fills me with dread, actually. Any advice?

I’m planning on not returning back to my job after my baby is born. I have no paid maternity leave outside of short term disability (60% pay for 6 weeks, an elective benefit that I pay for exclusively) and will use my sick time / vacation time while out, too. So, what’s the etiquette for when to put in notice while on leave? Any ideas?

What would you do if you had a month of vacation you had to burn before December?

Going back to work on Monday and I really want to quit and take time off. I feel burnt out and not interested in doing advertising/design anymore. Even after a long Xmas/NY break, I feel refreshed mentally but know that within a week or two I'll be drained again. Has anyone ever quit to take time off or taken a low stress/casual job elsewhere to reset their brain?

Somehow Monday/Tuesday are work days because Christmas falls on a weekend this year… (but the weekends are usually somewhat protected when Christmas falls on a weekday) and everyone’s operating as if we wouldn’t normally have a long weekend. I’m fine working if necessary but it’s a little odd to be treating as business as usual especially considering I’m not even able to take the Monday/Tuesday off in our HR system even if I wanted to because it’s a statutory holiday (in Canada)

How can I stop thinking about having kids every day? I’m even 80% sure I don’t want kids! I just keep imaginarily planning for them.
Ever since my high school teacher made a comment about how women have to plan for kids in their careers, I have thought about this every day. It just feels pounded into me day after day by everything I see in society that I need to think about kids and plan for kids.
Is there any way to unlearn this?

Things have slowed down for me in that I’m working only 55ish hours a week. Should I feel bad about getting my time in by Thursday morning, then going to Florida for two weeks with my family? I’ll be working the same hours while down there but am compressing my work week into 4 days the week prior.

Is anyone else getting sick of the crop top/waist out trend? I can’t seem to find items without it. Workout tank? Crop top. Dress? Crop top with a skirt or a huge cutout at the waist. Pajamas? Crop top. Even sweatshirts are now crop tops - I know it’s for looks but as someone who’s always cold I need the whole thing please!
