On a big zoom call this morning. Child walks in fully naked and COVERED in marker. I mean face, legs, hands, everything. Even better, I didn't hear them right away and a coworker had to let me know they were there via chat. Turned around and my kid looked like a soldier in army paint. Not my finest parenting moment since I just pushed them out into the hallway and continued with my meeting. Sharing the shame here

OMG 🤣. I know this must have been stressful especially if you were on with a client, but that's f-ing hilarious. I bet your coworkers were cracking up. If any of them are parents they'll get it, maybe time to invest in lock?

I’ve been working with a founder/small biz freelancing as their digital producer for a little bit. I’m having issues lately because they won’t give me a budget for content they want to make for their site/Instagram. I’m worried with the budget gate keeping that we’re going to burn bridges with contacts, especially now that we’re dipping into my personal contacts for content collaboration. Is this normal? How do I get them to give me a budget to work from?

Looking for some perspective: we just got a brand new $2,000 glass top 78" dining table. I asked my husband to please use a table cloth when he uses that table for d&d with his friends to avoid scratches and the loud dice on the table. He got upset that I "don't let him enjoy our stuff," that I "hate the sound of him having fun," and he says I am being unreasonable. From my perspective, I just want to preserve this expensive piece of furniture that we both love. Am I being unreasonable?

My spouse has made it clear to me that they no longer support me working in biglaw and want me to find a job with more reasonable hours. They were supportive early in my career and when we had one child, but our second was born a couple of years ago and all the additional work they put in at home, the lack of family time and lack of couples time is becoming a big strain on our marriage. Had a second baby almost a year ago now and just can’t get back into work mode. I used to be a workaholic and now can’t find any motivation in my current job. Most of it is probably sleep deprivation and feeling like I don’t have any time to myself anymore, plus burnout. Anyone go through this after having kids? How long did it last? I don’t have the option of simply quitting, but contemplating switching to a true 9-5, no-stress job, possibly out of law, while they’re young. But that’s scary.
