On a call with the CEO talking about diversity and they compare a person with tattoos experiencing prejudice in the office to Black people colleague experiences...
Meanwhile last I checked, a tattoo was a choice and removable. Also depending on placement, you can’t see it.

Getting a tattoo hasn't caused me to experience racism. This is silly.

It is indeed ridiculous, but in the scale of ridiculous racism statements in business, it seems quite trivial.

like

It’s not trivial at all actually because it speaks to how they have glaring blind spot when it comes to anything DEI-related. This inability to see it makes them ineffective when it comes to a BIPOCs EVP.

Accountability correlates with Responsibility in this way: When a person accepts personal responsibility for how his/her actions and decisions impact and influence the lives of others, said person holds him-/herself accountable and accepts being accountable to others for the equity and inclusion (or lack thereof) in their spheres of influence.

Has your company or agency taken steps to promote diversify in hiring? It seems that all the major agencies made posts or had racial sensitivity training but the momentum behind BLM has died down and so has the push for inclusion.

I love my job and the people I work with, but there’s one thing that really bothers me: the lack of diversity. Sometimes when I walk into the office and see everyone else around me as the only POC, it feels kind of weird. I don’t think anyone here has ever said anything racist or sexist to me personally, but I don’t feel comfortable talking about these issues with anyone because they might take it personally and then things could get awkward between us.

We are exploring having a third party come in and assess our I&D efforts across our company. We have many locations across North America. Is anyone aware of an entity who does this? We have found questionnaires through target organizations and have done anonymous employee surveys but are hoping to find someone who can do an assessment for gender, minorities, disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+, etc. and provide feedback on the actual employee experience and where we may have blind spots.

About to get married and thinking ways to best budget as a couple. I use mint and track everything from an excel spreadsheet.

We’re planning on having one account each for our own discretionary spending. And one main account and central clearing for (semi) fixed costs. Should I continue with mint? Any other tips?

Hello Fishes,

Is anyone here working on Data Management Associate role ?
I got a hint that you need to work end to end starting from ETL to Data visualization and all the other intermediate processes involved.

How is the WLB then? Is it okay to commit on such roles provided you are proficient in one part and have least exposure on the other sides.

Kindly share your valuable insights.

Would love some insight, and also would need some help adjusting my resume to fit the tech landscape.

What would you do?

Your teammate with the same title and pay as you is at your desk all the time for help. I'm definitely open to helping - but sometimes "help" is basically the whole job - it feels like I'm doing both jobs lol and it almost feels unfair that we both get paid the same or very close (Colorado, so pay transparency). The teammate has been with the company for longer than me.
