First time needing to edgarize a document (my practice is ECVC and have a client doing a Reg CF raise). Am I right in assuming that it’s just converting a Word doc or PDF doc into an SEC-specific format? Any recs on service providers? Would love a cloud-based self-serve tool and understanding of how pricing is supposed to work.
I have a partner at my firm who wants me to join a new project with them. It’s with the same client that I’m currently staffed to, but this partner oversees a different portfolio of work. I’m supposed to be on my current project through EOY, but I want to go to this new project. Will I burn bridges with my current partner/project team asking to roll off?
TFW your client decides to join you on site tours... checking out of hotel to join client tonight... Goodbye suite upgrade at the W.... hello Fairfield Inn...
Currently working in Project Management and have about 8 YOE. Slalom approached me for delivery leadership consulting role. What can I expect to make approximately?
A partner said on a client call that we really miss an associate I’m filling in for and that the team should be up to speed when she gets back. I can’t help feeling a bit slighted by that. I get that she’s much more senior (I’m a 1st year who started a couple of months ago) but I don’t think I’ve done a bad job at all. My first brief was spot on arguments wise and didn’t have much redlines. Am I reading too much into it? Should I check in with him to ask if he’s unhappy with my work?
I want to switch role as an AWS developer. But I have just learnt the things on my own in AWS. In interview I am asked questions based on real scenarios on which I am not having any experience. Any suggestions? Even if I do hands on on services like Linux academy or quiklabs, it would not help. (AWS cloud migration experience one can get if worked on a real project). Please help.
If you book a remote job at a project rate (and had based that rate on available hours during Mon-Fri), but now the client is expecting you to work over the weekend, how would you handle that?
I switched from audit to consulting, and I thought I’d enjoy my job since I’m no longer ticking the box.. doing something that’s more challenging (what people said lol) .. helping the client etc etc but honestly the job seems pretty much the same. I still work on meaningless BS stuff. Is it because I’m not in ‘real’ (strategy) consulting? I do process improvement / CFO advisory. Or are all corporate jobs pretty much the same other than the pay / wlb (which is def. better)
Here's the situation. I'm a freelance accountant. I have several part time clients, and one main 30-40/hr/week client. This is about the big one. The company has two co-presidents, but for the sake of clarity I'll call the person I directly report to the COO and the other the CEO - note the CEO also is the founder of the company. Again, I report to the COO. The COO is "working" in exchange for greater equity in the company and a crap ton of pay along the way. Cont.
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?
Hello All, I am urgently looking for a switch in Project Management role. I have already tried applying through career portals, linkedin and naukri but have not received any call. Could anyone of you help me referring within your teams for Risk Advisory or Project management profile in Bangalore location. YOE - 3+ Notice period - 30 days
Client brief: We sell something no one really wants or needs, and most of the people who buy it end up hating us for selling it to them. Go!
EY strategy folks: What is your group like in terms of the work you do, duration of a project, competency amongst peers, and pay structure? This is for FSO NYC.
As a staff on the consulting side, does anyone else find it awkward to join a zoom call with the client before the manager/sm joins in?
Hi Fishes , Any program/project managers here ? What do you think is the future of technical program management in India ? Is it for mba grads who are comfortable with technology Or should only pure techies get into it ?
I feel like I’m hitting a glass ceiling of sorts when it comes to representing clients at important events (ie, mediation, hearing, etc.). I’ll handle everything up until that point, but then I get the sense that the client wants the partner to step in and handle the big event. These same partners have told me they think I can handle it and would like for me to, but we ultimately have to meet the client’s expectations.
Do you get paid more for being on a public client in audit rather than private as you move up to manager? I know there were no pay difference from staff to senior.
How do you plan logistics if you have an in person interview on Friday and are traveling for client work that week? Ex: fly home Thurs night (firm pays), fly out Fri morning (interviewer pays)
We risk exposure and bringing it home to our families every time we walk into work, yet are limited to time off work without penalty. What's your sick leave policy?
Are public sector projects highly competitive to get onto at the different MBB firms? Saw a story today saying that the social sector is <5% of revenue, with some consultants saying...
Any Referrals available for a New Grad student with masters in computer engineering, been trying for the past 6 months barely had interviews and tried to change my resume with a professional as well. I would appreciate if anyone can refer me for any Embedded Software or Computer Engineering positions available?
I’m planning on asking for a raise for the first time in my career and I want to list out my accomplishments but I don’t want to seem cocky about it. (cont’d)

New to comp. C here, my senior just took credit over my work on a meeting with our higher ups. Is this common? What should I do?
So.. my husband and I live across the country from my family, including my young nieces. We haven’t seen them since before COVID and are not seeing anyone inside who is not vaccinated in our life, and this has not been a problem. We made a plan to vacation with my family to see them again this summer. My BIL is refusing to get vaccinated. Everyone else is vaccinated. My parents and sister aren’t happy about it but feel there is nothing they can do.
Currently in the US but interviewing for a UK-based firm and role. The comp level they are throwing around is £250k TC. Is this reasonable for a Director-level role with 12 YOE? My comparator would be wait 18-24mo to become a consulting partner - in the US that starts at $450k/£325k. For the purposes of this question, assume I’m optimizing for initial comp, not long term potential, and not livability, Intl experience, WLB, CoL etc. Thanks!
Which big 4 would be better for M&A? I'm interested in eventually attempting a lateral transfer into investment banking. I know it's a long reach but want to have an option that doesn't involve getting an MBA. Thanks!
Company I am interviewing with is small, so it doesn't have a 401(k). Any suggestions on how to invest well in other ways if I want to do more than the $6,000/year an IRA would allow?
When your boss gives you 48 hours (clock hours not billable hours) to produce a viable objection to a MTD/compel arbitration in a complex commercial lit case, which is not my practice area, what kind of result is he expecting? From scratch, no template.
Does everyone who joins Big 4 have a 2 years and done mindset or just me? I feel like I just joined Kentucky and enjoying the ride until draft day.
Can i expense airbnb if I choose to stay there?
If you get fired due to performance issues can you still file for unemployment? If so, will you get enough money for rent and food?
7 months in and about to be laid off due to COVID. No idea where to turn. Good reviews, just serious downsizing. Ready to take on my next challenge
Addresses his 177,000 employees on their plan. Taking no salary and cutting all executive comp by 50% this year. https://twitter.com/marriottintl/status/1240639160148529160?s=21
Just got told by managers that my performance hasn't met their expectations. High performer last year. Am I getting fired?
