On a project, had someone else get a “good job” for something I did. How do I approach this? Do I leave it alone? If it was me, I would have told xx person that someone else did it. However, don’t feel like that’s going to happen here. Just kind of sucks because I’m new and want to be recognized for my work while them knowing I’m capable of more.

This might sound like a crazy question but never having worked in public before: Billable hours - if you’re very efficient at your job, do you stretch out the time and work slower to get to your billable hours or do you safe the client the money. In a Situation where you don’t have other projects to work on. Tell me the ins and outs of working billable hours for a complete newbie.

After joining cts, I was mapped to a good project, before it started was mapped to a different one
Here I'm working with bug fixes and enhancement of legacy apps java 7, I really don't like it And as I don't know anyone upclose not feeling comfortable at work, feels like I'm judged for everything I do

This is the first time a client has ever threatened to pull a project with me as account lead 😢

They’ve changed their minds a few times not knowing the technical implications, and now want a deliverable that won’t work.. when we try to explain how the platforms work, they asked me privately if we wanted to drop since it’s out of our expertise.

😢 we will get through it, just a little shook! Anyone ever go through something similar or have words of encouragement?

When building the TCO and comparing on-prem vs cloud costs, do you generally use AWS Migration evaluator/TSO Logic or a similar tool? Or does the client provide you the info in an excel or a CMDB?

So I’ve been on a big tech client adv project for months now and have formed a good relationship with one of the contacts. She’s dropping hints about open positions, and they would pay me about 40% more and I like the company culture, so I want to work there. Will there be a noncompete or other internal problem if I go work for them / tell them I’m interested at the very least?

Currently on an internal team (no client facing work) and I have an offer from another B4 competitor for about $20k more but it will mean being in the office most days and 25-30% travel. I’m 100% WFH now and no travel. I’ve been wrestling with the situation but it feels like it isn’t worth it. Thoughts? 9YOE $200k range.

Staffing a part time side project that counts towards utilization at my firm. Unfortunately due to small budget cuts had to tell some of the part time staff who were contributing a few hours a week to the project that we would need them to step back from the project. Sent them an email immediately and thanked them for their time, and told them would love to work together again in the future. Is this fine or do I need to also meet with them to reassure them in a case like this?
