I’m extremely freaked out. I’ve just canceled a trip back home to avoid contact with my parents & grandmother (who are at greater risk of complications). I had a strong case of the flu in December and while it sucked, I was nowhere near death, so I think coronavirus would not be the worst thing that could happen to me as an individual, even though catching a little-understood disease would not be that great.

I’m also worried that if this isn’t contained in time it will kill my M&A work.

Also (maybe more because of the extensive media coverage) I don’t want to come to the office anymore, and I’m very annoyed by the firm taking so long to tell people not to come in. If there’s no official WFH policy by Sunday evening, I don’t think I’m coming in on Monday, whatever they say. Seriously

My brother cancelled a trip home to visit our parents...I all of a sudden thought about my parents’ retirement savings and now I’m freaking out. I have a few decades left to work but they are already living on their savings. What happens to their savings if the economy tanks? 😭😭😭

I happed to rebalance all my holdings into fed bonds a couple months ago. So as far as being able to support my family, that's taken care of.

As far as work, business as usual so far. I don't expect that to last for long.

As far as the world, hate to he negative nancy, but I think we are in for millions dead and great depression 2.0.

Ain't looking good Bros.

What’s happening is scary and like something out of a movie and largely due to being woefully unprepared. Unfortunately, there are numerous adverse consequences. I try to just live while taking precautions and not letting anxiety and fear get the best of me.

7, but I think media is not helping us determine what’s paranoia and what’s helpful containment. Legit read a scientific article that was like “people are going to DIE” right before giving some actual useful statistics.

I’m in Canada so the main concern is about overburdening our health care system. Can’t imagine how scary it must be to be vulnerable in the US right now.

Still haven’t cancelled my summer trip to Europe yet though.

I just received a job offer at a company I'm very interested in working for (yay!). Their salary offer, however, is at the bottom end of the range specified in the job ad. In my initial interview, I said that my salary expectations align with the range specified by the ad. So, my question is do I ask for more? Or do I just accept the offer? The company benefits are decent and I would get stock options, and it's fully remote - if that influences your answer.
