This is my biggest problem in life. Period cramps.
Honestly, you don’t need to justify why you wanna take day off. You can simply say I am not feeling well, I am gonna take the day off and will connect back tomorrow. Don’t even ask if it is okay. Just say that’s what you’re going to do.

I had a woman on a team who suffered from period migraines and I had a ton of sympathy for her bc I get bad cramps but being out sick multiple days per month started to cause issues with leadership and the client also started to notice and ask questions, etc. so HR asked that she get some documentation for her medical need (I’m not totally sure exactly what it was, I wasn’t directly involved in any of the convos). Totally agree with above, if it’s just one day here or there it shouldn’t matter at all, use the sick time they give you and you don’t need any justification but if it’s a common / more recurring need then it might be good to get some documentation from doctor and work with HR so that it doesn’t negatively impact you and your management can’t say shit about it when you take the time that you need. Hang in there!

Take the sick days. It’s not their place to question why.
I used to get terrible period cramps and hormonal migraines. Going on BC really helped me, if that’s an option.
