H1B stanping question - I just got my h1b renewed, but i need to travel in december to Asia and likely the place im travelling to will not return my passport before i have to return to the US due to christmas and new years holidays. If i go to Toronto, Canada before this and try to get the stamp before asia trip can i work while im getting the stamping done? Or is that illegal? Im afraid of taking too much vacation time across both trips.
What does OOO stand for? Wrong answers only. (Inspired by PTO) thread. I’ll start with Observing Other Opportunities.
I’m a mid level lit associate. Headed out on a vacation tomorrow and feeling guilty leaving my case team behind who are all drowning. I know vacations need to be respected, but is it ok to feel this way?
When is the right time to buy a second home (primary investment/ secondary vacation home)?
Not a good day to start my 2 week vacation! Flight is scheduled to depart in 2 hours from ATL and still shows as on time . Pray for me 🐠s
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
Does anyone else find it ridiculous that firms require a minimum daily time entry? For example, my firm requires us to bill 6 hours a day, whether or not it’s billable work, we have to have a minimum of 6.0 in our time entry system every day or we get flagged. If we’re on vacation we have to pre-bill 6.0 a day. Why the hell do firms do this???
Anyone ever feel awkward or bad letting folks know you’re out for a religious holiday? Yom Kippur is on Monday this year and there’s virtually no other Jews in my group, so it feels like an inconvenience to the rest of my team that I’ll be out on a random Monday.
I got my first full time job back in March 2019. It’s my dream job in terms of work, team + industry. (I work for a travel agency doing their social). The only downside is the PTO. (Cont)
PwC 🐟 my rewards summary page shows I have holiday balance of 8 hours. This means that I messed up and didn't charge holiday hours properly last year right? How can I best use this 8 hours now? Cont.
Drove through downtown Santa Barbara last night. Restaurants were doing indoor dining and there were lots of crowds with no masks. What are you all seeing this holiday weekend?
For the past week or so, I have been gorging on so much food with little to no exercise. I am giving myself permission to do this in the holiday season, so no guilt :) but I just noticed today when I was walking uphill, I was panting and breathing heavy, when this has never been a problem for me earlier! Please tell me this is temporary and I’ll get back my energy and lung capacity 😩
Does anyone know how much of balanced vacation/PTOs gets paid when you leave Accenture in California ? Is it capped at 240 ? I have 350 hours or so. Thank you
Is it possible to designate your last day of employment over a holiday? Say Thanksgiving this year (11/26/2021) to take advantage of the holiday benefit and get that paycheck?
Attention C Suite: If you end the year without taking any of your PTO, does management take this into account when bonus time comes around?
I think I may be the lowest paid exec producer in nyc. In return, I insist on using all of my vacation days. I’m not sure if I’m losing or winning.
If you are no longer accruing vacation time, can you charge vacation instead of holiday over Thanksgiving and save your holiday time for another time? Does it matter?

What are some exit options from Technology Consulting with 1 or 2 year experience from a big 4 and how to find them?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
How do I become a morning person? Getting a kid seems like the only option, and that's not happening for 1 million reasons.
Hi FB fam! What are some of your experiences with H1B change of address amendment? What can I expect from USCIS during this process? Site visit or some kind of verification? I want to make sure 1/2
If I claimed stimulus bills as a credit on my tax return, does that count as a public charge and affect future H1B or green card applications?
Hello fishers, Do all the big 4 demand their employees to have a coding knowledge? If yes, what language do they look for? If no, what are the other skills they look at?

Surprised no one posted this yet but Marriott is extending their status for another year.
Hi, intern here to crash the party... anyone know of Account Management jobs that might be coming open soon? I graduate in December and am frankly terrified — but I am enthusiastic!
Recently lateralled to a new firm and I have mild “PTSD” from my old firm 😶 everything from the way docs are saved on the system, file naming, email writing style, team conventions etc - I keep thinking any small mistake would get me yelled at / be at the receiving end of snarky or passive aggressive emails but people at my new firm are so lovely and far from that. I’m trying really hard to move past this and my new colleagues are probably getting sick of my questions 😂 Anyone else can relate?
Long shot but looking to move to union city, NJ and was wondering if anyone has any insights on how it is there in terms of safety and such. TIA!
To the data scientists out there, how much are you making (total comp)? Thinking of switching from general consulting to data science, but the data scientist salaries seem to very quite a bit. Further, most of the data points appear to be US salaries
Just curious, what percentage of your billable rate do you take home? Calculation would be ((Salary and Bonus/Yearly Billable Hours)/Billable Rate). For me it's about 18% as a Senior 1 in M&A Tax (note this doesn't include other benefits).
Thinking about joining tech. 🐠 What are the non-FAANG companies do you see the highest potential (thinking that joining FAANG today probably doesn’t provide that much upside)? From a preference standpoint, most interested in fin tech and health tech. But trying to solve for RSU potential above all
