When you resign and you happen to be on the bench at that time. After giving two week notice, so you start to tell colleagues that you are leaving and schedule time to catch up with them in groups/ 1:1 (since you have time); or just wait until your last to send out farewell email to inform all the people you’ve interacted with at work?
just told I need to reduce my charge hours from 45 to 40 / week. Not reducing my work scope, just amount of time I can charge. I know I shouldn't be angry, given that the bench is huge, but still sad
Are there any meaningful certifications or learning modules I can do while on the bench? Been on here a week and need to charge a code other than G&A or else 💀
Being on the bench is triggering my anxiety in a way I’ve never experienced before. I’m in a constant state of panic, have chest tightness, feel like I am short of breath or someone is strangling me..
Pregnant and in first trim with severe nausea. Was put on a team that is super understaffed and have hard deadlines like every week as the client is going through diff transactions. Partner says I can log off whenever I need but Sr manage keeps pushing work to my plate and asking why work is not finished. How could I deal with the situation? Should I just tell partner I need to roll off the team?
First time on the bench in five years and I want to draw it out. Any tips? Book PTO every other week?
Quitting the firm in the next two months and have 15 PTO days left unused. Does it make sense to roll off my project and then use my 15 days of PTO before quitting or to cash out my 15 days?
I can’t tell if I’m slowly being rolled off my engagement or not. I’m being put on a lot of other engagements at the moment. I like the engagement that I’m on. How can I figure this out without coming across as paranoid? Nobody has told me I’m doing a bad job or anything like that.
How should I go about switching my service line. I feel like the Oracle service line is getting to be unprofitable since a lot of companies are moving towards Cloud. I always find myself on the bench
Any recommendations for certifications that are relatively quick and easy to get? Been on the bench for a while and trying to get some "quick wins" to motivate myself :/
That moment when you walk out of a second round at a job you want, are told you're moving onto the next round, and also receive an email that you're now staffed after weeks on the bench 🙄
Big project, 2 SMs, the other SM is such so insecure that it’s hilarious. Tried to get me rolled off by bad mouthing me. Some real petty house of cards stuff everyday with this person. PPMDs, advice?
If you’re on the bench and get an external job offer is it worth giving a 2 week notice? What’s the point? I want to be professional but I also want to get paid until my start date. What should I do?
In accenture countdown site. I can see project as '' bench-state''.. What does it means??
Hey all. My project is going well, but we had two new resources join and we clearly don't have budget. Assuming no one will be rolled off, are there situations where Directors squeeze timelines?
Anyone here do barely anything their first year as a staff? Ive only been on short projects and feel like by the time I get up to speed with stuff I get rolled off (i have good performance reviews). I feel like all the staff on my projects pretty much just sit around trying to look busy until someone asks for help with a 20 min task then its back to doing nothing. Am I the only staff here noticing this?
What would your “walk out” song be if you could have one playing in the background as you exit on your last day?
Has anyone purchased a timeshare or do you vacation solely with your hotel points accrued from work?
If I’m looking to leave the classroom, what jobs are available to me in the corporate world? What can I look for? I have a BS in elementary and special education. I don’t know where to start. Thanks!
Soooo turns out vaccines don’t protect you from long COVID. Do we still wanna go back to the office and risk that? I don’t.
Seeing some people just roll out the bed and show up on zoom meetings. I think this will come in handy to remind them to shower and change, ‘hopefully’? 🤦🏻♀️😂
Anyone know what Weil’s average hours are like given that they don’t have billable requirements? A lot of people say big law comparable but I know some people in big law shooting for 2000 and some shooting for 2600 and those are two very different worlds. Was considering applying to a role there but wanted to get a feel for what this really equates to.
How are are elected Republicans going to claim that they’re the working class party and then be anti-union and anti-raising the minimum wage among other things?
“Per diem” meal expenses are EXPLOITATION. $50 is not enough for a single meal at a hotel restaurant, let alone an entire DAY for food. Shifting travel costs onto your employees = evil. Yes i mad :<
Looking for good roadmap / Gantt chart templates to deliver a roadmap reassessment to client (Jira roadmap export excluded)
How does one go about transferring internal consulting resume to an external one? Looking to exit
Skin advice: Not trying to get too medical here. But, I’ve been having bacne (and related pigmentation) on upper back and upper arms. Doctors have called it Keratosis Pilaris. I’ve tried multiple things but nothing REALLY seems to work. Any tips / suggestions?

Hey McKinsey Fish! Is there any real luck of applying to a job on the website? I applied to an implementation role that I know I would be qualified for but without any referral. Been a few weeks so was just hoping to atleast see a rejection 😁
Just started at a tier ii but received a MBB offer slated to begin in 2020. I lateraled from another tier II so it would be 3 consultancies in 6 months... any advice to handle?
Potential agency boomerang having a hard time making a decision to stay brand-side or go back. Need some advice! Do I leave the brand, being "the client," fun work, great WLB, as well as the most toxic work environment I've ever experienced and meh pay? Do I go back to agency lead a new team with significant responsibilities, forget about WLB, sell my soul alongside smart people, get great pay and benefits? PS: I'm a mom and brand-side for 5 years. What do I need to know!? Thank you!
Help! Received offer from client which I don’t intend on accepting. I would like to use it as way to bump up my pay internally. How should I go about doing this?
Long post that’s going to spill into the comments so please bear with me 😅 Anyone having a problem with being overlooked on their team? I worked on implementing a new system, recruiting app teams to test it out, & creating a thorough guide to help people learn it. Back to back meetings with clients & different teams; I was dedicated to this project for months. My coworker added a 2-pg FAQ section & essentially got credit for doing everything even after I shared my contributions to my supervisor.
Getting together for a weekend with 7 other high school friends in Denver in early November. Looking at Westin downtown, Renaissance and Hyatt. Any recommendations for night life and hotel in Denver?
