On the road full-time. Thinking of moving from Chicago to Denver. Thoughts? Sick of the drinking-focused social scene.

Have spent a lot of time in Denver, loved it. Had three close friends move there within the past 3 years for work, they are all raving fans. Certainly a good spot - the A office out there has a transfer wait-list currently.

Hopefully you can tolerate a weed focused scene. Colorado also brews more beer than any state in the union. How's SLC sound?

I transferred about 2 years ago from a Midwest office. I live in Boulder but just being in CO gives you more access to the mountains, hiking, skiing and biking. Plus it was easier for me to date because everyone enjoyed doing similar things as me

This is me too, OP!! But mostly because I want access to mountains/hiking/explore the outdoors :)

Wow, TC1 is a prick, even if joking. I still drink occasionally, but am bored with that scene and am big on hiking, trekking around cities, exploring (and lots...LOTS of expensive coffee). No valuable Denver-specific advice, but best of luck to you! I'd say focus on some fun physical activities, like hiking, shooting, photography, etc. In the long run they're all cheaper than being a bar fly, and far more rewarding.

I'm dying to move to Denver too! My weekly commute would be brutal though, especially if I want to stick with delta. Otherwise I'd pack up and leave in a second!

I've worked on projects in Denver off and on for the past 5 years. It's the only city I've worked in that I'd ever consider living in. It is one of the most active and beautiful cities- with access to amazing hiking, biking, skiing, etc. The people I know in the Denver office are great - it's no surprise that there is a wait list. While the pot scene is obviously present, you can certainly live there without it being part of that. Good luck!
