So my husband is a lawyer also. I’m 5.5 months pregnant and my husband started a new job in January. In his interview/negotiation phase they verbally said that the firm offers parental leave etc etc. welllllll come to find out he has absolutely 0 leave. The firm doesn’t offer leave to anyone (except disability for the birthing parent). Not even 1 day for the birth of his own child. We’re sad but also angry. Has anyone dealt with this? We don’t even know how to go about this.
I've heard PwC does unlimited sick days. Is that true? Does it actually work? Seems like the same as no sick days...
Anyone have advice on getting medical expert witnesses? In NC if anyone practices here. None of my client’s doctor will call us back.
I just joined and I love this group. Anyone else been missing crazy amounts of time because of sick kiddos? I feel like every time I get caught up a fever rears it’s ugly head.
Anyone have tips on how to increase concentration while working? I find that ill do a few minutes of work and then look at my phone for a few minutes, then back to work, and the cycle continues throughout the day. Any ideas on how to stop checking my phone and just buckle down?
*I know this sounds like it could have been written by a high schooler.
Does anyone else get so anxious from their job that at times they feel physically ill? The team I’m on is toxic and I constantly feel the pressure of my boss breathing down my neck. Starting to feel like I’m in over my head…
Do you guys feel so bothered when you become sick and just get rest for a week as everything gets piled up on top of each other? Or do I just exaggerate this?
Just need to vent for a second: I’m currently feeling sick and waiting on my results from a COVID test because my boss still had us go into the office after a coworker tested positive. Also recently found out this same coworker came into the office sick for two days prior to testing positive. The real kicker? I have my first vacation time in over a year scheduled for next week! This culture in law of “work until you drop” really needs to end.
I'm starting a new role in the new year but I was recently told treatment for a medical condition I have will require two appointments per week, for 10 weeks. Their hours are during regular 9-5 hours, is there any way I could start treatment with my new job without coming off as a slacker? Or do I put off the treatment until I hit a year mark.
Mosaic (an FCB Health Company) — our managed markets/payer agency, currently has two Copy Supervisor openings.
Payer exp is great, but not necessary. We’re open to considering experience in HCP/promotional. Or from other worlds - anyone with more B2B, medical/technical writing experience who’s comfortable with lots of data.
Great opportunity to get into health policy-related writing. DM if interested
Moved back closer to family but literally feeling depressed and bored from being in my home town (and kind of sick of family). I could move to a new city, but concerned of feeling alone due to it being hard to make friends during a pandemic. Thoughts or advice?
Can anyone explain the medical benefits in EY GDS, does it include prescribed medication reimbursement?
Thinking about taking a sick day and just sight seeing around my city. Has anyone ever done this?
Anyone ever return from PTO sick? I hate taking the extra time, but I am not feeling well. Not sure if it’s COVID, but a lot of COVID symptoms.
Tips for getting through the day with a cold? I’m not that sick but I feel like I can’t concentrate
Why do people who work in hospitals/medical institutions in the US don’t change clothes before they take public transportation, go to Starbucks or do groceries?
Final interview today at BCG was rough. Woke up feeling sick, but with only a couple hours before the interview decided to go through with it. Mistake.
Made a couple mistakes in both cases and did not really feel like I connected well with one of the principals. Tested positive for Covid after the interview. What are my chances like? I assume you have to be near perfect for an acceptance.
I have an interview at McKinsey and Bain so not all hope is lost, but very disappointed about today.
To people who talk to themselves & make general announcements to the world thinking it's going to start some kind of conversation: shut up. IDGAF about your McDonald's breakfast or your screen problem
Tips for good recruiters/agencies in Silicon Valley/Bay Area? Specifically for strategy/ops type of work (not IT/accounting, which seem to be the only types of recruiters I can find)
I am not good at this and will never make SM
How did you figure out which skincare products to use? Trial and error or with the help of an aesthetician?
Favorite essential oil other than the typical lavender, eucalyptus, etc.? What do you use it for? Looking for inspiration. TIA
Hey guys, I’ve 3 years of federal consulting experience. Does anyone have any openings? It’s been 3 weeks since I’m out of work due to restructuring and this is my last resort.
Does anyone know how to do that hairstyle that is center parted in the front and sort of disappears behind your ears, but has no part and a little volume in the back?
I joined a company mid pandemic. I and the company assumed I would relocate. I wanted to… THEN. Rent prices have skyrocketed in the past year, and I can no longer reasonably afford it. Do I have to move? Will I be penalized if I don’t? In office is not required by the client or the company. Most everyone is still working from home. I don’t know what to do…

Anyone have experience with Riveron?
A slice of pie costs $3.50 in Barbados, $3.00 in St. Lucia, $2.50 in Belize and $2.00 in Cuba.
Those are the pie rates of the Caribbean.

Even though I’m just a little ol’ in-house writer, It still feels really, really good when you push the envelope, brand approves It, and your subject line/idea is produced.
