I'm dying to move to Denver too! My weekly commute would be brutal though, especially if I want to stick with delta. Otherwise I'd pack up and leave in a second!

sounds like you are boring. also, know great bars in denver!

like

Hopefully you can tolerate a weed focused scene. Colorado also brews more beer than any state in the union. How's SLC sound?

This is me too, OP!! But mostly because I want access to mountains/hiking/explore the outdoors :)

Wow, TC1 is a prick, even if joking.

I still drink occasionally, but am bored with that scene and am big on hiking, trekking around cities, exploring (and lots...LOTS of expensive coffee). No valuable Denver-specific advice, but best of luck to you!

I'd say focus on some fun physical activities, like hiking, shooting, photography, etc. In the long run they're all cheaper than being a bar fly, and far more rewarding.

Have spent a lot of time in Denver, loved it.
Had three close friends move there within the past 3 years for work, they are all raving fans.
Certainly a good spot - the A office out there has a transfer wait-list currently.

I transferred about 2 years ago from a Midwest office. I live in Boulder but just being in CO gives you more access to the mountains, hiking, skiing and biking. Plus it was easier for me to date because everyone enjoyed doing similar things as me

I've worked on projects in Denver off and on for the past 5 years. It's the only city I've worked in that I'd ever consider living in. It is one of the most active and beautiful cities- with access to amazing hiking, biking, skiing, etc. The people I know in the Denver office are great - it's no surprise that there is a wait list. While the pot scene is obviously present, you can certainly live there without it being part of that. Good luck!

So my husband is a lawyer also. I’m 5.5 months pregnant and my husband started a new job in January. In his interview/negotiation phase they verbally said that the firm offers parental leave etc etc. welllllll come to find out he has absolutely 0 leave. The firm doesn’t offer leave to anyone (except disability for the birthing parent). Not even 1 day for the birth of his own child. We’re sad but also angry. Has anyone dealt with this? We don’t even know how to go about this.

Just need to vent for a second: I’m currently feeling sick and waiting on my results from a COVID test because my boss still had us go into the office after a coworker tested positive. Also recently found out this same coworker came into the office sick for two days prior to testing positive. The real kicker? I have my first vacation time in over a year scheduled for next week! This culture in law of “work until you drop” really needs to end.

Great opportunity to get into health policy-related writing. DM if interested

Final interview today at BCG was rough. Woke up feeling sick, but with only a couple hours before the interview decided to go through with it. Mistake.

Made a couple mistakes in both cases and did not really feel like I connected well with one of the principals. Tested positive for Covid after the interview. What are my chances like? I assume you have to be near perfect for an acceptance.

I have an interview at McKinsey and Bain so not all hope is lost, but very disappointed about today.
