You can start the GC process ASAP since the H-1B is a dual intent visa. Under PERM it’ll take about 2-2.5 yrs end to end. There are other options for the GC process but you’d need to discuss with an attorney whether you’re eligible.

So my first term H1b expires on April 30,2021 and I’m in the process transferring my H1b to a new employer. By way of transferring, would the H1b extension also automatically process? i.e. would I have to do a separate H1b transfer and H1b extension? Thank you all for your assistance.

Any tips you can share for someone looking that a new accounting job that sponsors an H1B visa and greencard? Audit has exhausted me mentally and physically, and its already time to move on after 5 years. However I am having a hard time look for a job that sponsors both work visa and greencard. My current firm will sponsor my greencard after I became a manager (probably after 2-3 years). But I don’t think I can hold by that time.

Need your help in choosing the best life insurance provider (35 year term). 32 M on H1B. Checked out policygenius and leaning towards TransAmerica (Gieco has a Tieup along with Auto and home). Kindly suggest me if you personally had good experience with other providers like Lincoln, Prudential, SBLI etc. Appreciate your inputs 🐠

This is a great country. My parents immigrated here in the early 70's with little money and could barely speak the language. They found work and built a beachhead. My mother sponsored the immigration of 3 of her siblings, who brought their spouses and children. These 9 cousins of mine today have 2-3 children each, as do my sister and I, and so I have ~35 family members here, all of whom are solidly middle class. I say this not to minimize the struggles of others, only to point out (cont)

I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
