Once I get my H1B issued, how soon can I apply for a greencard and how long does the process take from application to receipt of the greencard? For reference, I’m born Canadian (I think birth country plays a factor in this?) and is it better to apply through my employer or apply on my own?

So my first term H1b expires on April 30,2021 and I’m in the process transferring my H1b to a new employer. By way of transferring, would the H1b extension also automatically process? i.e. would I have to do a separate H1b transfer and H1b extension? Thank you all for your assistance.

EY has laid off huge number of Visa candidates without giving adequate notice. Some were given couple of hours as well. The company used to be very visa friendly, all the goodwill build is broken

I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
