There’s a corporate partner that was a big-time lateral hire. He is always out of the loop on the deals and hands off on everything BUT any time there is a client call, he tries to provide input that is very off base (i.e., stating incorrect facts, creating inapplicable hypotheticals, or being an alarmist on items were previous addressed). It makes me cringe every time because the partner from a different corporate group has to cover his gaffes on the call. Has anyone run into this situation?

Graduated 2019, admitted late 2019, been practicing almost three years. First two in LT lit, then almost a year in transactional. Making $70k now working from 9:30-7:00.. almost non- stop. No time for lunch type of work dynamic. Daily tasks: Attend 1-2 closings and 1-2 signing contract with client . I don’t mind the work, just $70k is hard to sustained a living, any ideas on how I can transition to a better paying transactional practice area? 😐

I feel awful. I really wanted to be on a project but it was tiny and could only accommodate a Manager. Great client. 😭

The majority of my experience at work has been in knowledge and training development and I’m desperately trying to make a switch. I’m learning SQL and I want to use more strategy and data analysis in my role/projects. Any suggestions on what other steps I should take for project leads and hiring managers to take me seriously outside of training development and anything that would make me a better candidate? I feel stuck in my career because of this.
