One executive I support wants to share his location/whereabouts with me through the Apple app, "Find My." He wants me to know whereever he is so we are right beside each other.

Would you feel comfortable? Or am I overthinking this? To me, I don't care where he is.

Am just wondering if this is an appropriate request to ask an EA?

I wouldn’t go for that at all. Seems very odd and HR material.

As long as he doesn’t ask the same in return

I wonder what his concerns and expectations are - does he want you to check to ensure he’s running on time? Is it so you can provide his wearables if asked? Is he threatened and want someone to be able to locate him in emergency? He might determine that it’s an invasion of privacy, I wonder if he’s thought this through.

likehelpful

Nope. Unless you are a PA you don’t need to know where they are.

Seems weird to me. I’d want to know the reason. And I sure would not share my location with my boss ever.

like

I would love this. I wouldn’t have to ask “did you make it to the airport?” 20x each week

funny

BCG1 kudos. If I did this for my team, I’d never get anything else accomplished. So when do you start tracking the flights, do you use an app?

Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

Additional Posts in EAs / Executive Assistants

Is it considered rude to ask about the salary range before taking calls with recruiters? I keep getting emails about c-level ea roles and they try to entice me by saving hybrid role with great benefits and compensation, but won’t post the salary range in their job descriptions. I guess my thinking is that I’d waste their time with calls if we aren’t aligned on compensation. Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.

We are hiring a Senior Administrative Assistant at Baker Tilly US to support tax, audit and consulting professionals primarily in our east region. The job is remote with an expectation to be in office or the site of an event as needed for special occasions (large team meetings or trainings). Of course, with the global rise in COVID cases, most of those have been pushed to virtual again. If interested, please message me! Happy to connect on specifics.
