One of my patients has been making suggestive comments ever since I started seeing him. He makes me incredibly uncomfortable and even after trying to work with him, he’s still giving me the ick. It’s disgusting and I can only imagine what he’s like outside of this hospital.

Report to your supervisor and ask a coworker to go into room with you as a witness

like

I’d tell him “that’s not appropriate”, “we are not like that”, and finally “you need to stop”. Nothing in your job description requires you to accept abuse. Ask your charge to reassign you, if need be.

Report him

Report it and ask not to be assigned to him. Also ask for a psych consult.

like

100% - you should not have to tolerate this kind of behavior!

If talking to him doesn’t work, ask for reassignment. You don’t deserve that sort of treatment.

That's so disgusting. You should have reported him. Luckily, I haven't encountered one yet.

Sexual harassment is sexual harassment even if from a patient

You should tell him it's making you uncomfortable. Without you telling him makes him believe that it's okay to just continue harassing you. You know the solution on your problem. You must have the courage to do it yourself. Do not allow anyone to do that to you.

You should try to embarrass him in front of his family members, unless they approve of predatory behavior. I always hate when this happens. Happened to me numerous times while I was still starting.

I have had quite a bunch of nurses go to me complaining about this. I will always say don't ever mess with someone who has access to your meds. This is such an annoying situation to be in.

Get a garden hose size cath from the OR. . Place on bedside table and say " Just in case we need it " It amazing how quickly it works !!!
Though seriously, This type of person is testing how far they can go . They will only stop if you make it clear. " You're behavior is inappropriate. I have reported it to my supervisor. This hospital has a zero tolerance of abuse"

Ugh! I've encountered countless people like him. Stay professional, OP.

I am in my 10th week of pregnancy. I've been very sick from the very beginning. My first pregnancy was a breeze, so this is really unexpected to me.
I haven't told anyone in the office yet.
I've worked from home as much as possible. However, the lack of rest and feeling so bad has been affecting my work. I have 10/15 work and managers pressuring me to get things done.
This is my third busy season, but it's never been so tough.
I don't want to go running to my coach telling her that I'm pregnant, since she's had two kids and not needed any accommodations.
I am so overwhelmed... but I also don't want to appear weak.

So I've been tasked with talking to our expert in a case to get details on his opinion, ask questions about his report, and discuss what he may have to do as the case progresses. I'd already rather the attorney be doing this, but whatever. I want to record the call just so I can take my notes from it and make sure I dont miss anything and then delete it, but wouldn't such a recording be discoverable? And then wouldn't deleting it then be destroying discoverable information?
