I mean...the leverage has now shifted so your best bet is to approach this person as an actual human being and have a frank conversation.
Lol good luck
Is he sponsored? You may have some leverage if so - but come from a nice place offering congrats and frame as figuring out how you can work together to make his last month’s with you meaningful for him, your client, and ensuring he leaves as strong performer for that sponsorship
Yeah not really sure a firm conversation is the right way to go about it. A1 said it right, this is one of the few instances that a consultant has leverage and personally, I would take advantage of it for sure after years of having to say Yes to pretty much everything
BMW M7? They have a program??
Sounds like instead of trying to impress and be top performing, he is coasting. If he is smart, he is prob doing the bare minimum to not make it easy to build a case to fire him. Not worth it.
Look man that depends on how he was treated. I worked overseas for a douche bag who did not care about me or my personal life. I ended up being depressed. The day I got my offer, I slowed down to a 3, maybe even a 2, intentionally. Sailed through the next 2 months without ANY urgency. Burn bridges? I simply couldn’t give a F anymore...
Have a firm conversation on needing to step up? Again, the performance decline is from a '1' to a '3', just don't see the same level of effort
M7?
If they get fired I’m pretty sure that will affect future employment. If they have professional responsibility, remind them they’re still getting paid well to do a job.
Not sponsored so definitely doesn't intend to come back
Yes, coasting is the right word
