BU is well respected in Boston/NE corridor. Their tax LLM is online or in-person.
Depends where from. Some LLMs are just scams. For tax LLM, NYU is tier 1, Georgetown tier 2, Florida tier 3, then everyone else is tier 4.
I went to NYU LLM and have to say it was an incredible experience.
I know of local LLM programs that are respected in my geographic for SALT, I’m sure there are local ones in your area too. The notion that only certain schools are worth it isn’t as true when you aren’t doing big law and want to become a subject matter expert in your locality, imo.
Of course, there’s also the question of *if* you really need an LLM in the first place and why tax attorneys in particular value it, which also varies upon locality.
Yes!
Is your employer paying for it?
No, but I’m thinking I might be able to get some other scholarships to cover the cost. I generally hear “Big 3 or Free” when it comes to LLMs, so I’m aiming for free.
The only online tax LLMs worth it are Georgetown and NYU. If it’s not from there don’t waste your time or money
