If you’re a campus hire, what made you choose deloitte over other firms/b4 firms assuming you had other offers? You don’t get a bonus until you hit senior and tiny raises. I don’t think many other firms/big 4 do that right?
I did an internship with a boutique consulting firm that got extended for a full year while I was in school full time as well. On top of that I have 16 months of experience in my B4/T2 consulting firm, and I have a ton of other experience on top of that interning at banks and startups. TLDR; I have 3+ years of experience, 1 year at a small consulting shop and 1.5 years at B4 upon graduation. Is it true that none of this experience really counts?
How does the new rule impact on amendment? Big 4 has promotion typically every year and which require amendments. Do you think this will effect current H1 holder?
Would you leave big-4 for a promotion to "Managing Director" role and a 30-50% salary raise at a Small to Midsize Consulting Firm?
Debating on leaving Big 4. Not exactly sure what I would want to do outside Big 4... any ideas for research areas?
Which Big 4 has the best benefits?
How much experience do you need to be seriously considered for jobs that ask for “5 years” experience? I have 1.5 years of Big 4 experience. Do you typically include the 2-3 years of college (basic bookkeeping) level accounting jobs / internships as experience as well? (Including college part time accounting jobs gets me closer to 4-5 years experience - just not sure if that’s generally viewed as “valid” experience)
Have an opportunity to be a loaned staff for a company I find really interesting for 2 years. Should I be cautious of this? Seems like a good opportunity but I’d likely miss out on the typical career progression of a big 4 firm
Been here several years. Only just clicked to me how predatory Big 4 are. Business model is to use cheap, underpaid labor from college grads who can't go elsewhere or pay debts. Churn em and burn em.
I left a boutique consulting company because I felt under utilized. Joined a larger supposedly hip consultancy with local market model with great expectations and am finding myself let down by the experience - the client, work, teamwork and collaboration, technical content is not per what was promised and feels like I am back to my b4 days. I was a fool to fall for the kumbaya in consulting crap - I am best developing products with great teams. Industry looks down on me. What are my options?
How can I learn more about the work and day to day expectations of FDD Advisory? Looking for resources to educate myself in the service line as well as advice. I’m an S1 in audit in the PNW at a Top 15 firm but looking to move to NYC and make a switch to FDD either to Big 4 or another large firm by the end of the year
If I have an offer from a competing B4 dated 6months ahead, do I need to notify when I accept/sign or that 6months later?
Am I making a mistake declining offers for Infrastructure Automation/SRE Ops roles in product companies and going for Backend development roles in mid-size service based/Big 4 companies?
Current S1 here. Is it okay if my resume experience is just: B4 Internship > Associate > Senior? (All in the same firm/practice) Never done other internships. The only other thing I could include is a student assistant job I had in college. Not sure if that's even relevant. Guess just the progression at this 1 firm is enough? Just looks a bit incomplete on the resume.
Has anyone moved from audit to recruiting within the big 4? How did you do it? How is the job?
Are there good exits in Australia other than big 4 banks? Market is so much smaller than US 😞
Big 4 to tech startup AMA!
What does M&A consulting at big 4 look like, especially at the entry level? All my previous experience is in audit/tax and I know nothing about consulting, just wanted to try something new. I liked my finance courses in undergrad, but not sure how relevant that is. Would I have ANY transferable skills from my accounting background? Can you explain what the work is like for a new hire? Especially if you've made a similar switch?
Anyone work in Transaction Services FDD at a mid-tier firm (let’s say top 10)? what are the big differences between big 4 and mid tier FDD? Pros and cons?

If you go from h1b to h4, but still have time left on your original h1b visa, can you switch back to h1b easily?
What kind of hours are you putting in on your current project? What's the industry? (E.g. Tech, in at 7:30AM, leave at 7PM, back online at 10PM)
🐠 that kicked ass in a PMO role, question for you: any tips or micro habits that worked for you in terms of meeting firm & client expectations? Know its a loose term and is project specific but just want to know what skills I should hone.
Just found out I made A2 -> SA1 🎉 and received an offer at Deloitte (Consultant level) 🎉 for the same exact salary. Both tech consulting, more IT strategy role at Deloitte. What should I do...?
Got below offer - Product Manager in Tech - 180k base, 10% bonus, 160k RSU (vested 4 years), Should I take this or wait to hear back from FAANG ? Thoughts?
Re lateral hiring: who can you expect to conduct an initial screener for amlaw50 firm? Secured an initial interview and just waiting for more details. Fingers crossed!
Joined consulting to get varied experience, but I keep getting extended at client but on different projects. Client is great and projects are cool, but I’d never wanna live on this coast—
Does anyone have any insight into the culture at Vinson & Elkins in Texas? I am considering lateraling and would appreciate any insight.
Help a new international consultant in NAMR. Please. Tax planning season. 1. I have maxed out 401K. 2. If I put money in traditional IRA, and then roll over to Roth IRA - what is the tax treatment? If this is post-tax money, do I pay any additional taxes now or later on capital gains? 3. Are there other avenues I am missing? Thank you very much in advance.
Planning to accept another job soon but have a scheduled 1 week vacation starting next week. When should I put in 2 weeks notice that I’m leaving? Is it a risk that they withdraw approval of my long-approved PTO? New job wants me to start ASAP so I’d feel bad delaying start dat over a month if the solution is to wait until after vacation to give 2weeks notice
Indian 🐟, just confirming - we don’t need a UK transit visa to connect via LHR as long as we have a valid US visa (in my case, H1B) correct?
What is the policy of EY regarding leave if an employee gets COVID, my brother is in India and just before he was about to return to US, he found out that he is COVID positive.
Applied for H1B transfer on April 29th in premium and an RFE has been issued even in these critical times. Just thought of sharing it with 🐠 here!
Anyone here work at Wayfair? What do you think of the child trafficking blow up happening right now? Search #wayfair hashtag on Twitter if you haven't heard. At this point, we only have Wayfair saying this is ridiculous, but obviously this can't be a coincidence...
