I'm quitting my job with nothing lined up. I have a clear goal in mind (moving to a marketing role) but am so burnt out I can't be positive about the application process while working here. Any advice
I have an offer for the role of product manager (specialist level) in Deloitte PDM. Please advice on how to negotiate for PM role in Core Consulting. @
In search of interview advice!
After about a full year of attempting to make a career shift into career services in higher education, I am finally getting interviews. I recently interviewed for a Career Coach position at a community college. Tomorrow, I have an interview for an Assistant/Associate Director for the career development office at a law school. Advice on how to market myself or what questions I can expect with not a lot of experience in my background would be appreciated!
Recommendations vs What Client Needs
Been with PWC M&A for 15 months now and recently received an interview for an IB analyst position at a boutique for almost > x2 salary (90 base, 100% bonus). Should I go for it? Is it a step back?
After 2 years of intense consulting my health needs an exit. Tips on starting the process?
Hi everyone! I am new to Fishbowl and looking to transition into the tech industry - preferably in a customer success or HR role. I’m currently enrolling in an HR data analytics course. I have extensive hospitality and restaurant experience so I was thinking of possibly applying to Toast or another relevant start up. Any advice would be much appreciated and also any likes so that I can dm. 🙏 Thank you!
I received an offers for a corporate finance position in industry (not FAANG, smaller companies) from what I can tell from research they have filed GC petitions previously but not a lot... would it be safer to just stick around big 4 and get GC and then try to leave to industry...? I want to switch careers & jobs but don’t want to jeopardize being able to stay in the US long term
Weighing a few back office hedge fund roles. What sort of exit opportunities come from in house valuations roles covering more of the illiquid assets in the funds’ portfolio?
Any lawyers -> entrepreneurs here? Or lawyers who get involved in startups with a hybrid legal/business role? Any insight/tips on taking the plunge would be much appreciated

Need help deciding between EY FAAS and KPMG AAS offers for S1 position in Northwest HCOL (not California):
KPMG: $95K base, no bonus
EY: $87K + $5K sign-on bonus
Can’t narrow it down by “the people” since everyone was cool. In terms of compensation I would obviously choose KPMG but I know EY has a stronger practice. Thoughts?

Anyone In a remote role with a company that allows some flexibility of working outside the usa?
Do you usually respond to proposals with a PowerPoint (pdf) or word document (pdf)? Do you think it matters to the client or all just preference in the end?
Sometimes I make up numbers and analysis based on what clients want to hear. I mean they are the ones paying for it 🤷🏾♂️
So apparently in my city, it not uncommon for an auditor who left B4 in 6 months to make slightly more than senior 1...
How’s your WFH workload, all? This week: Mon: 10 am - 2 am. Tues: 9 am-8 pm. Wed: 10 am-9 pm. Thurs: 10 am - 8 pm. Fri: 9:30 am-8 pm. Sat: 10 am - 7 pm. Sun: noon - 4 pm, then 7 pm - 11 pm.
This ... is ... not ... sustainable! I’m the sole earner and have a kid, so “just quit!” during a pandemic is not it - and “setting boundaries” ain’t easy when I’m always reachable by text/zoom/email. I’m fortunate to have a job, but damn. Working From Home = Working Forever From Everywhere. And it sucks.
People actually go Vegas now? Was checking hotels and rates look just like any other year
I really want to get a dog. But with the way this career is taking me, not sure if I should. I’m single, live alone and just got a 100% remote job. Is now the time? Or is it irresponsible given I may have to move back to an office job in the future. Consulting dog owners, how do y’all make it work?
I know this bowl is called “investing,” but let’s be honest the last 6 months have been nothing but MGNI, CCIV, FUBO and APPS 😆anyone buy into these? Profitable? And how much? GO!
I feel weird needing to make so many sudden last minute appointments that take me away during the work day, and have been considering telling my supervisor that I’m going through a medical thing (or maybe even saying fertility stuff, not sure yet). How have you all handled this with work/supervisors?
Have interviewed and will likely be receiving offers after being in consulting for 9 months. How do I leave my firm gracefully without burning any bridges? I love my firm but have dream exits potentially lined up.
Hey everyone! I’m starting a job as a technology consultant at EY within FSO. I don’t start for about a month but I am genuinely curious what the day to day is like (besides answering emails and having no social life). Are there any skills anyone recommends I brush up on? I’m worried that I won’t be very prepared and I’d like to start getting ahead now if possible
Thoughts on the effects the Great Resignation will have on society over the next decade?
I’m a second year debt finance associate. What kind of in house opportunities should I look into? Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Been with Chase Saphire Reserve for more than 2 years now. DoorDash benefit is expiring in Jan. Lyft Pink is expiring in April (not sure it will be renewed). I don’t really use any of the other benefits. Is it worth renewing this card in Feb? I have been closely looking at Capital One Ventura. Any thoughts? Also I have 35k CSR points, would I be able to keep them if I don’t continue my CSR?
wondering if I’m incompetent or in a tough spot— basically one of my supervising attorneys recently left our small firm and their cases got passed down to me (im a 6 mo old atty) they did their best to bring me up to speed but ever since they left there’s some big issue popping up in every case (we cant reach a client, im not aware of a deadline, something minor wasn’t filed). It’s been like 3 weeks now and I still don’t feel like I have a handle on it, is it normal to be so over overwhelmed?
Anyone at DLA Piper know if any offices/practices are open to fully remote from a state with no office? If so, could you DM me?
Just started a new job and not feeling a honeymoon phase and wondering if it means fit is not good. Anyone had a similar experience?
About 2 months in and so far realizing all the things I am not please with - eg level does not have the authority I was hoping, vision for the domain I am leading is more siloed and not as future forward as I would like, team at all levels is not the “top team” I thought I would find,…
I know I can help fix and improve those… but bummed this is the current state.
