I entered into relationship with a girl in my office, everything was going good and we were enjoying but BENCHO corona mr gy aake. Now she is in Rajasthan since lockdown and I am in Faridabad 🤦

I DESPERATELY WANT WORK FROM OFFICE

I am married and don't prefer living with in-laws. Following are some examples situations.

1. It's lunch time. Mil and me cooking. MS team's rings, manager asking for a quick update on project. If I'm at my place, I can conveniently switch off the stove and resume 15 mins later. Can't do the same in their place.

2. Need to work late 11-12 in night. Deadline is approaching. I'll order from Swiggy, if at my place. In their house, I have to listen to the lecture about how important family is and that I should be prioritising while my husband works till 3 in the night.

likeupliftingfunny

Unmarried women are facing the same issues in the name of being trained. The fact is that human beings are not very equipped to be in close proximity for the entirety of their days and Indian parentals do not have a concept of the fact that their children are old enough to know what to prioritise at what point.

My wife actually wants WFO, she don't want to live with in laws🤣 although my parents are very chill and supportive
Girls/women these days don't want to live with family in the name of freedom

likefunnyuplifting

Females, please say some good things about staying with in laws. I'm soon getting married and would be staying with my inlaws, these comments are making me faint and tensedd 🙈🙈

funny

Anyone single or married who's staying with their parents or In Laws feel that there life has become stagnant. This is because every little thing we do is bizzare to elders. Like waking up late in the morning, ordering food instead of cooking, going out on weekends etc.,. Basically the difference in opinions and the lifestyle choices is kinda conflicting and the only solution is for the office to start so that we can just get out of our hometown and do whatever we want. And yes we are now addicted to our Freedom, there is no going back 🤭

like

Freedom is required to some extent, daily outside food is harmful to health... Elders are not always wrong... They are experienced and advise us for our good 😊😊

like

Other way around.. singles are happy In eating home cooked food .. where as married aren’t happy cooking home food .. not mentioning the gender who is cooking .. it’s known fact

I think it's between extroversion and introversion. Companies should totally opt for some hybrid model when it resumes cause a person like me can't think of traveling every morning leaving the comfort of my home and it really boosted my productivity.

I understand networking and stuff but hey wtf.

Mix feelings.... most of the population feels same and are confused 😅

Rent -15k, travelling-4k ,maid , restaurant food, miscellaneous expenses-11 k
Married or single , everyone should prefer WFH coz they are saving at least 30k per month coz of useless relocation expenses

Perfect calculation ,totally agree

Married or single, would prefer WFH because traveling in Bengaluru's traffic is a nightmare 🙄

like

I'm from Karnataka and Bengaluru is pretty close to my home town :) have to just suck up

Grass is greener on the other side. When it was WFO we wanted WFH, now when it's WFH we want WFO. Too much of anything is always toxic.

I am married and I am happy with WFH.. Please don't generalize this stuff for married people 🤣

like

Yes everyone is happy in WFH. People's from Mumbai are very happy because traveling in Mumbai is very big issue. Only senior management is not happy.

Living with In laws is always difficult coz there is an unsaid responsibility which needs to be taken care off. With work it sometimes becomes difficult to take care of everybody thats y women need freedom from such responsibilties. If men are asked to live 24*7 with their inlaws i bet they would also demand the same freedom. There is nothing wrong with that i guess

Work from office is good for entire humanity.
Atleast weight will be in shape.

Work from home means keep ordering from swiggy and zomato no control.

Also regardless of whether you are single or married, staying at home is enough (earlier people used to beg for WFH), get back to work see the greenery outside!

I went client side and am miserable - it’s madness on this side. Have made it 90 days and would prefer not to make it more than 120 - but we’re in a pandemic. Half of the problem is that I “onboarded” remote and the onboarding was TERRIBLE. The other thing is that there is no process and I’m on a team full of managers who have spent 15 years at this company and have no availability to talk to me with a day full of meetings. I’d prefer not to quit without a backup but I cry every day.

PMs, If your company is an AWS shop, they just released two new cool features to Cloud Watch that is extremely valuable to PMs. The first one is Cloud Watch Evidently that allows for non-deployment A/B testing and the second is Cloud Watch RUM for user and performance monitoring. Definitely look into them since I’m sure the red tape involved to use them is a lot less that 3rd party tools.

Guessing I should still leave the down payment in a HYSA (getting 3% right now)? Sucks to miss out on market returns, but I understand that conventional wisdom is not to invest money you'll need in the short term (within 3ish years). I'm definitely tempted to put a portion of that in VTI though...
