Anything is better than IT audit, go for it
Mentor
If I were you I’d do it. People at EY always try to jump ship from IT risk/audit to Cyber all the time. They like the projects more and not everything is on fire.
I am in Cyber and I have done one IT audit engagement. I told my PML that if I was ever staffed on one again I would leave. So hopefully that provides a little context 😂
Please get out of IT audit
Networked into a cyber strategy project here and I enjoyed it. ITA wouldn’t let me go after cyber offered me a transfer, so I leveraged my experience into a better opportunity
Get out of IT audit lol
As for KPMG cyber, I know a good chunk of EY DFIR has hopped over there recently so there's definitely room to grow.
But again, get out of IT audit lol
Was just on an IT audit engagement with a cyber background, if they try to put me on another I will threaten to leave
Absolutely. You actually still do IT audit type work in Cyber just with a more cyber lens and usually better clients. I jumped and was well worth it
Good opportunity to move. It's a great team with lots of good projects. If you join the IR team you'll have an amazing time and so much room to grow.
How did you transfer/ find this job? I’m trying to move to cyber myself. Moved from external audit to IT audit and I’m over it in 4 months already. Lol
Sorry I’m late to this thread feel free to DM me I can connect you to those who have done this and share their honest experiences.
