Opportunity to leave before update testing starts where the acting senior quit during interim testing so if I were to leave it would leave the engagement understaffed. How bad would this burn bridges?

Tax season, and I just noticed I have a household income of $700K. Guess how much we've saved? $0!!! $300K goes to tax - thanks to CA $60K goes to housing mortage, HOA, and tax $15K goes to travel & vacation $10K goes to BTS... Where did the rest of money go? NO IDEA... Looks like just dining and grocery stuff. I don't have even have kids, didn't buy any luxury brands last year.

Feeling pretty bummed. Seeing a lot of my friends my age earning way more than me, and while I’m super impressed/happy for them, I feel as though I’ve worked really hard and just can’t keep up. What are most 27 year olds earning nowadays?

Analyst keeps taking time off for dr appointments, sick, etc. Today they were screen sharing and had a bunch of tabs open with titles that were obviously emails regarding interview scheduling, follow ups, and job search websites. Hope all that sickness doesn’t impede their ability to land a new job!

What idea or realization completely changed your thoughts or beliefs on something?

Since being at home, my SO has asked me for help on her work consistently. I spend at least an hour every day helping her with data analysis or just being a sounding board for her to throw ideas of off. She gets irritated when I don’t have the time to help or sit down with her. We are both consultants at different firms and industries. Has anybody else feel like they’re helping their SO do his/her work more often than before? What strategies have helped to manage SO expectations?

Considered falling down the stairs today to injure myself so I could have time off work. Think this means it’s time to take a step back and think about my physical and mental well being.

Was unexpectedly asked to roll off a project today. It was a bit of a shock because this has never happened in my career before. There were certainly things I could have done better, but I don’t feel I did anything wrong and I feel I did my best to address feedback I did receive. Aside from starting a new project search ASAP and talking to my career counselor to have my side of the story heard....what else can I do in terms of damage control? Panicking now because of all the covid layoffs...

My teammates are drowning and I have finished all my work ahead of schedule and am slow this week. However, when I worked 3 back to back weekends nobody offered to help me. Do I use the slow time to breathe / catch up? or help my team 😶

Received offer for $120k at Deloitte for consultant level, currently a big jump from my staff 2 salary of 85k but I know I am being early promoted and will likely make around $105-$110k by August, is the short term salary bump worth starting over at a new firm?

The VP of the company invited a small group for dinner at his house like 8-9. I forgot to the send the thank you note because it was just before the weekend. Then didn’t send it for another 2 days thinking it was too late. Now its been a week . Should I forget about it or send a thank you note anyway? I am overthinking?
