People trashing this decision fail to understand the systemic discrimination women have to face in the corporate world. Indra Nooyi has some great insights into this topic. If an organization that is going for an IPO cannot have a single female member on the board, doesn’t that point towards a deeper problem.

how you get the job or opportunity doesn’t matter, it’s what you do with it that matters. This is a start to get women in to the room! Yes we want it to be because we earned it but do you think all the white men really earned to be picked first? NO, but they are given more opportunities and don’t think twice about taking them even if a women or other minority may do a better job. Stop bitching about how we finally get opportunities and start doing something with it. Give an opportunity to your fellow women next, expand and prove that we can work together and promote each other instead of complaining about the past. Move forward

Participated in a weekend AWS hackathon in Ballston, VA. Winning team who happened to be sitting next to us was comprised of 5 dudes. On the final day before the presentation one of the dudes ended up befriending a black woman. We overheard him introduce the project and explain it to her for the first time. Interestingly when the final presentations were made black woman was on stage with the same group. As she was not really presenting, I was wondering what her contrubitions were other than optics. These banks are just virtue signaling & I honestly dont think it's going to change anything..bros know how to play the system. So 👎

SA2, AWS advertises on LinkedIn. They do workshops and hackathons at that location all the time.

It’s a good thought. Just interesting to see how bulge bracket banks can set restrictions like this for a company to IPO. They become gatekeepers of the market. Not sure if I think banks are the most ethical / well intentioned orgs.

Haha so when Goldman says "we dont want to do this IPO because reasons", what's stopping one of the other BB IBs from saying "well happily take this on since Goldman is too busy virtue signaling"? Nothing is. Another BB is just going to eat these fees up.

I mean he said the stats showed better return if women were on the board, maybe it’s a win win. More money and more diversity. I have trust in Goldman that if the numbers said all white men boards resulted in higher returns, that would have been the new decision.

I was laid off in April when there was just email and phones. Cut to five months later and I’m working again. Yay. But suddenly it’s all Zoom, Slack, Teams, Slides, Sheets. Email is dead. Hi everyone, I have an hr discussion with Siemens on Monday. With current CTC 9.1 LPA, can I ask for 20 lpa fixed component(I'll be joining within 30 days) will there be any joining bonus. If yes, will hr inform me or should I ask about it explicitly.
