@other BD folks at Deloitte KPMG EY PwC - how technical are you? I got brought in to sell a tech heavy solution that combines Red Hat, Salesforce, Service Now and I feel like I’m WAY out of my depth. I’m hitting numbers now but still have a heavy dose of imposter syndrome.

So my primary role is a tech BD solution and I can relate to you in a way. I do come from a tech (oracle) background but I mostly have to put solutions together using those products you mentioned rather than oracle. One thing I learned over the years is that I just simply cannot have depth in all of them. The key to be successful in your role is what everyone calls as “networking” in consulting. You have to be able to find someone in those products within your firm and compile all those different inputs into a solution blueprint for proposals.
I can talk the talk but not walk the walk. Focus on a broad solutions vs getting in the weeds on the unique platforms. Make sure to form really good internal relationships so you can easily pull in SMEs. Learn with part of the solution is the core and which are supporting factors. Establish roles in each pursuit and internally project manage who is doing what and when. Be upfront when you are out of your depth technically and tap in others. Above all else, fake it until you make it.
technical how? technical accounting or for implementation of those systems? and you also mention you are selling so are you referring to sales ability?
got it. best way to get an understanding of is... well experience in having done it yourself but if that's not feasible, watching tutorials on youtube, engaging with the community on support forums could be another source.
