So Biden announces goal of 50% of vehicle sales to be electric by 2030, and the next day Tesla stock price drops. How does this make sense? If I look at it objectively, I might price in greater expected future cash flows to respond to expected greater consumer demand and/or federal subsidies. Are people responding to the behavioral economics component and saying “well Biden didn’t invite Tesla because the head of the United auto workers union didn’t want him there, that’s a bad sign”.
