Our company in CA has been working remotely for the last two years since Covid. We are downsizing our office space and officially transitioning to a remote first workplace. With this, we are looking for paperless options for our employee filing system. We have a current hris we use for new employees or documentation but it’s not customizable. We need to transfer all the old paperwork in the file cabinet to a repository or some sort. Any suggestions??

Just for storage purposes, or as an ongoing doc management system? If it's just storage, you can use a service like iron mountain. If it's for everything, docusign is good. And many HR/employee management platforms (like Bamboo HR) also include some level of doc management as well.

Our PEO HRIS has the capability of document management but at a very basic level for little customization. We have SO much old paper files that aren’t relevant since we are in the digital age but still need to store them somewhere to have access to them electronically if necessary. But more so for storage purposes. We currently use Docusign for onboarding paperwork so I will look into this!

We use Bamboo, Gusto

Try looking into Box or Dropbox. That’s what my previous company used. And they hired a temp to scan every piece of paper into a digital copy. And for signatures, we leveraged DocuSign

Hi everyone. I’m new here but I think I’ll get a lot of really good feedback. I work in government procurement. I worked remote during the pandemic and now my manager cannot see his way to letting us work from home. Our department is the only one in the organization that is in the office all the time. It is really hurting morale and, personally, making me look for something different. What is everyone’s experience with old school management? Thank you!

Good morning. I am in need of a side gig that can help me make about $500+ a month. I work full time but I am not making enough to make ends meet. There is a catch ~ I am disabled and work from home full time. I can work outside the home but only for 25 hours a week. Any suggestions?

This group really makes me appreciate my situation. I am fully remote at a remote first employer who does not care where where I work as long as it doesn't affect my residency and pay in the territory I was hired. (ie working in Costa Rica and Mexico 6 months but need to be back in Canada ever so often to maintain citizenship status)

I have an offer at faang (400k +rsu), also fully remote but this group really makes me feel it's a mistake to leave.

Any faangs fully remote up for a chat?

I am driving both me and my husband crazy. We both work from home in a 4 bedroom home pretty decent size. My husband wants to do daycare and id prefer a nanny. Thankfully money isn’t the the concern, it’s more he thinks we’ll be distracted and I am nervous about anti-vax people and rise of polio and whooping cough. We went to a daycare we liked but they did they allowed religious exceptions which makes me uncomfortable. Would love to get feedback.

Unable to decide to leave my current company. They are actively blocking my growth and I got an offer for a title promotion, but a significant pay cut. The new job offers $100k, 26 days pto, hybrid 2/3 remote, 37.5 hours a week. My current job (7yrs) offers $102k, 42 days pto, office optional 35 hrs a week. With the new job being in CT, the increase in taxes, 3x increase in insurance premium, and travel to and from, I am looking at $700 a month pay cut. Is career advancement worth $700 a month?

Anyone here on a sponsored worker visa?

I am switching employers to Accenture.

I am being told I cannot clear a right to work check until my BRP arrives. And because of this I will need to have my start date pushed by two weeks (start date is mid Jan right now, visa approved yesterday and they need the documents by end of week).

Does this make sense? I'm trying to argue my case as I don't like the idea of losing two weeks, and I am approved. I cannot control the post delivery times...

What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
