Currently in the $80k range Supervisor at a media agency in NYC. Trying for a client side role but I may have lowballed myself. Is this considered a lateral move? Would it be normal to take a pay cut?

I always hear big/medium size agencies constantly look to expand and burn people out. What smaller shops in NY are fine with their client base and more focused on quality over quantity?

How to deal with people flirting with you at work.
I’m married, and one of my coworkers flirts with me. Nothing super overt, but definitely not professional. We’re good friends and work together constantly because we’re on the same client, so I don’t want to make it awkward. Do I just do nothing and let it go? It is mostly just odd I’m not super offended, but I’m also clearly uninterested!

Got a new job offer for a tech startup. Contract had this "Employee Invention Assignment, Confidentiality and Non-competitions Agreement".

I have been working on a data science project that I think helped sell the company on me. It's related to their business but not 100% directly. If I work on my data science project and make it into something that can be monetized can they step in and say it's theirs under this agreement? Can they screw me?

Then again they did give me stock options...

Anyone have thoughts / shared fears for dating post-lockdown? I broke up with a long long term SO right before lockdown started, and it feels so depressing to think that I may not be able to go on a normal date again for a long time. I know I’m blessed to still have my health and job, but I’m scared that this breakup is just going to marinate and keep me sad for the foreseeable future (and I really don’t think video dates are my thing).

What’s your personality type?

I’ve been looking at these new home gym stocks. Peloton stocks shot up. And now new tech is coming out like Tonal and FightCamp. These haven’t IPOed or anything yet but I’d like to invest or look into it more. Do they have any parent companies? Who’s making their software / hardware (suppliers) ? Can I invest in them? Or where can I find this type of info?

Reading materials for Snr Strats planning their move up, what’s the one you read that made you go ‘aha’? I’ve read Good To Great and am ploughing through Good Strategy Bad Strategy but need something more marketing-specific to be clearer on how my strategy peers in agencies are thinking and working, and how my non-strat colleagues see the role. For context I’ve worked in agencies for twelve years but been a pure strategist for three, so missed any formal guidance in a lot of the ‘basics’.

About to have a baby soon. I live in a 2 story house with Master and nursery on second floor and the guest bedroom on first. My mother would be coming to help me out for the first few weeks and would be using the guest room. Even after she is gone we would be spending majority of the time on the first floor. What are the things I would need 2 of for each floor? Mainly concerned with what the baby is going to sleep in when on the first floor. Are playpens ok? Would I need an another bassinet?

I am on H1B and have offer from Deloitte and medical health startup... Startup giving fully remote job and no office. Range is 160 for both offer.
