Our school is really trying to improve spirit week and competition between class years. It use to be better. What activities does your schools have to bolster participation in spirit week etc.

At one school we had a yearlong competition. Homecoming week was just one part of it. So each class made a scarecrow in the fall, a holiday tree, a spirit banner, canned drive collection and design build, pep rallies, etc. At the end of the year, whichever class had the most points won a day out of school at a nearby park.

Those are great ideas. Thank you. I’ll take as many ideas as I can get

At our HS each grade 9 to 12 was assigned a hallway in the school. The kids had to select a theme and decorate. Best hallway won! Kids enjoyed

We have dress up days, athletic and silly competitions about once a month. We also had a door decorating day with a theme.

How do you award points and things

Cloud sandbox PII question: Do any of you have experience with data privacy in cloud (Salesforce) sandboxes? A team member used a list of actual leads to test a feature in a trailhead (learning portal) sandbox. Is it visible to any engineers at Salesforce Or are trailhead sandboxes private?

Any United health group remote employees here? I recently accepted an accounting job and some of the onboard makes it seem like I’m only allowed to work from my home office. I usually spend a few weeks a year out of town visiting family and work during this time so I don’t have to use PTO but I’m nervous I won’t be allowed to do that anymore

Is it common for an SE to need to do analyst-style research for a POV/POC? This research helps guides our team of analysts in configuring the product’s environment for the POC. As an SE, I’m tasked with this research since I’m customer-facing but our analysts are not. Idea being that I can apply knowledge of the customer’s requirements.

Does anyone else get bombarded by recruiters reaching out for roles that are totally irrelevant?? I’m getting so fed up. Three or four times a week I will get recruiters messaging me about very junior product roles - if they had even glanced at my LinkedIn profile they would see that I haven’t been entry level for 10+ years. It’s downright spam at this point. I even have my “open to work” settings configured to clearly specify the level of roles Im open to. Just out here venting! Ugh

Anyone ever wonder why it’s so hard for some sales leaders to understand the simple concept of leading by example? I see this all to often where leaders bark orders at their teams however don’t “practice what they preach.” I wonder why that is….those that lead by example get the buy in from their teams and inject energy and positivity into their sales systems that results in overall higher closing rates! Where do you draw the line of leading by example and delegating….thoughts?

I have a 3rd grader who's usually on point-- actively participates, earns A's and B's-- but for the past month hasn't been doing her work and just zones out. I've met repeatedly with parents and school specialists, talked to her to see if there are changes at home, and come up with nothing. The only thing working academically is one-on-one but that's not helping me find the cause. Any suggestions?

What is your school’s policy/unwritten rules on religion in the workplace? I’m an atheist who works in an elementary that requests “staff prayer time” over any life issue a staff member may face. I am finding it awkward and uncomfortable since I don’t join prayer time and it is noticed. These prayers take place during contract hours and are always phrased like they are optional, but they don’t feel optional to me.
