1. Watch English movies as much as you can without subtitles
2. Practice a small game where you think of a hard concept maybe related to technology or something and try to explain it to like 7 years old.. catch is to use as low a number of words as you can.
3 Practice with online people on apps like JoshTalk, ByTalk
4. Read books related to what you are working on, unlike video or tutorials, books generally gives you a wide range of vocabulary to talk on one subject in length.
5 Prepare beforehand meetings key points and for every pinpoint write down some keywords if you find hard to think of words on the spot
6 Last not the least be Confident! No one and nothing is perfect, or we wouldn't have uniqueness.

Thanku 👏🏻

In my opinion, you need to do some homework and follow below points to start with and u will feel the difference
1. As u have 5 yrs of experience I am assuming you must be a individual contributor. Daily meetings are to take status of the task assigned to u. Before the meeting, go with a preparation on the tasks that u have worked on and do a dry run of 5-6 mins.
2. Try to answer in a systematic way as in a. The task that u are working on 2. The progress 3. Blockers 4. Expected time to completion etc.
3. Donot rush while answering. Take your own time to pick up the pace. It's okay to be slow. That floating time will give u buffer to frame the answer in your mind.
4. Speak with confidence. Remember: watch your tone .. there is a thin line between confidently speaking and being rude.
5. Record your own answers. Hear it practice it and tune accordingly.

Remember, things will not change in a day but u will start feeling the difference for sure.

Your managers may be thinking this, but it could also be that they simply haven't had the opportunity to see your full potential yet. It would help if you continued to focus on improving your communication skills, and try to take on opportunities to showcase your abilities. Seek feedback from your managers and colleagues, and pay attention to how others perceive you.

That's anxiety & low confidence
Think of those ppl in meeting as stupid ppl & all wil b good

That is why I said low confidence & don't always assume they know all, technically they wouldn't know better than you so just feel confident about yourself

One simple approach I would suggest is start using just English language to talk with your friend or colleagues in office. You will easily start improving in a month.

Its happens with me too when I connect with onshore team

Same boat!!

Hi all got an additional question do i also need to learn how to fake onshore accent example my team try to communicate with usa peeps in their accent of English

I don’t feel I’m being paid what I deserve and don’t expect the amount of my upcoming promotion/salary will be what I hope it will be, but I don’t want to leave my company. Does getting an offer elsewhere to receive a counter offer cause bad blood? Should I avoid that practice?

Told my boyfriend I wanted to talk about me going back to an Associates in Comp Sci and he reacted negatively. He didn’t get MAD but he couldn’t find the words before he said that well we “shouldn’t get engaged if I was taking classes” because it would be “unfair” to me to juggle school, work, and wedding planning. Also said he disliked when I was finishing my B.A. a few months ago (stressed/depressed) bc I was “mean” to him in that headspace. The whole convo made me feel awful :/ Any advice?

Had an interview with a TINY firm. Pretty much one partner and one associate(that i would replace as they are moving). Partner said PY they made 900k. He then says if you do 20% of the clients for 180k you tell me how much you want of that 180k. Okay so how do i say i want at least half of that when i have 1.5 years experience.... current associate said he made 40k year one and 50k year two...soemthing doesn’t add up???

Hey everyone!
At an entry level, do you believe finding a mentor is the best way to advance in advertising? I’ve been out of school for 2 years now and have applied to quite a few entry/mid-level positions at local agencies and have had no luck. I currently work at an acct. firm and would like to move on to an account or strategy position. I believe mentors should stem from a personal relationship, however I can’t say that I have anyone personally who can mentor me in this space. Any advice?

Realtors, if you could give yourself a few tips when you were starting out what would it be ? It can be about real estate itself or just personal. I’m a new realtor!

I’m freelancing with an intl organization to design a site for their zine to work with a new cms, a pdf version of the articles, tagging their old articles (decades worth) and adding integrations like Google AI. It’s just myself and a developer (i also have to provide html) and they’ve set out a month to complete it. I do not think it’s enough time and have flagged that a few times with no answer but will be negotiating the contract to protect myself. Any tips or things I should watch out for?

PWC SM’s - are you truly remote or have the option to be? I Know the intent is there everywhere but the truth is everyone ignores your preferences at Deloitte… Even though they asked us for it. I enjoy consulting, I just don’t want to do my family an injustice by traveling and burdening my spouse with everything that comes with having a family. Recruiters have been oddly persistent for PWC so I’m considering it.

Would it be crazy to leave a company like Deloitte for a huge raise at a small firm?

I haven't seen the discussion on this topic yet so thought of starting one & try to find what others think.

Is Agile work model really unnecessarily pressuring the developers/designers/testers. I have seen my elder brother/sisters who started IT career in 2006-07 or nearby & were so happy due to which I also attracted towards IT career. Later on with my experience I came to know that I have been working in Agile since starting & they were working on waterfall which doesn't pressurise employee
