Out of place to ask a MD who you don’t work for directly but interacted with out to lunch? I think they’d make a great mentor and want to “pick their brain”

Go for it, better to have a mentor who you don’t work directly for and can give you more unbiased advice

like

I’ve cold emailed senior MDs in different divisions and created strong mentorship relationships with them. Lunch may be a bit aggressive, but definitely fair to ask to grab a coffee for the first time. When you meet with him/her don’t put pressure on yourself to make it a mentor relationship - be yourself and it will happen organically (or wasn’t meant to be)

like

No, the best mentors are found organically. All it takes is to establish some sort of connection with them and take it from there.

Has anyone figured out how to not feel absolutely horrendous when you wake up? I dread mornings because waking it so hard for me.

Hey! I've always wanted to get into IB (prestige, money, you name it), however now that I'm in a more laid back environment (better WLB, "easier work") it doesn't seem as attractive as before and the pay is quite good for an analyst level (I think the pay is competitive even comparing with IB's pay in my country) . I wanted to know if anyone had the same experience and what were your thoughts (pursue an MBA and leave your comfort zone and "good pay" or just stick with it). TIA!
